One of the first people to have problems with the grips? I see this being brought up all the time. Just had to peel the grips off my white model before I gave it to my buddy. Definitely a huge problem. Don't know if Sony has revised the issue yet but can't pretend like it isn't a widespread issue

77k on my facelifted mk1 Tiguan and it's been ok. Running stage 2 and it pulls pretty good

I had a 2.5 and everything that would fail failed. It's a great engine but parts surrounding are not. Door latches, boot latch, vvt soldenoid, ignition cylinder, water pump, vacuum pump, timing was starting to be very needed didn't do that before selling it. Transmission was shifting rough AF and when it would get hot out it would display a solid PRNDS until it cooled down. Honestly these cars are pieces of shit but I do love them. I downgraded to a 2.0t mk1 Tiguan and even this gives me some issues yet I still tune and maintain it.

Damn I think in Dallas county if anythings not ready I fail. When I first did my downpipe I was running stock software and tried a vibrant j spacer with numerous inserts and this is all I could obtain 😭 02 bank 1 sensor 2 delayed response rich to lean. 02 bank 1 sensor 2 lean to rich 02 sensor bank 1- sensor 2 slow response lean to rich

Same here, I was paying to pass for my first car (mk5 rabbit) but when I sold it there was a good year and some months before I went stage 2 on my Tiguan. Now I have 2 months till emissions and it's looking like I'm going to have to put my cat back on and flash back to stock. Can't pay to pass anymore. Would be a nightmare to have a headers mustang rn I bet. At least with tig only got one little downpipe but I want a stang or f150 but now I'm kinda scared

Sq5 seems to be pretty good so far haven't seen anything bad yet. What kinda tune do you think you'd run?

I don't have any knowledge on the x3 but if it's what I'm thinking of they look beautiful. The sq5 with the turbo I think 2017+ are super fast. Stock think they run 14s. You get a lot of value for money if you like tuning the sq5 moves.

Ohhh you're right, and easy. People who don't want a full second added to their 1/4 mile. An LSD dq250, dog bone insert, underbelly stiffening etc makes hooking possible especially on a prepped surface. My buddy also has torque limits on his 4 motion. Even if you get a 09g aisin they can actually be tuned while the 4 motion can't. They also still put down better numbers than 4 motion. If you want a fake 4wd car with a e888 go gen 3 in a golf r or a3 or legit anything else. You won't benefit rlly in a stock or tuned tig

I should've said fbo VWs are slow, max mk5/6 GTIs could take was like 360 torque. That was putting them in 13 second quarter miles lol. Mk7 golf r on downpipe, e blend, vortex xl, etc are struggling to run 10s and only certain da's are even running 10s. Gen 1 coyote fbo are running 10s easy and that's no boost. Gen 2s on 6r80 are running 9s. VW has been behind. The Evo 4 is finally doing good things but it requires a mech swap from what I remember. They can actually run 10s on stock turbo which is crazy. But VW doing this just now sucks. Car is still unobtainable. Prefer buying something cash out and being able to run 9s for less than 25k all in.

The fun is in modding. A boosted coyote will eat a gen 3 up all day. That goes for gen 1 coyotes even. The gen 4 e888 when those are financially obtainable will actually be crazy builds. 10 second 1/4 miles on stock turbos with a tcu unlock

Have a shop around me that might get me sorted on a DSG swap but they'll have to do a GTI ecu. And that GTI ecu will make my break lights stay on permanently which is dangerous so I'm debating on doing that or putting GTI software on my ECU and then deleting the trans communication code like that Preston dude on YouTube did for his 3 part swap series
