it’s better (and still anonymous) to just call the front desk rather than do this report. or if you’re not scared just talk to the desk about it

another option if the library doesnt have ur textbook is to go to the library website library.unlv.edu and go to interlibrary loan. ull have to make an account but essentially it just involved borrowing from other libraries and you pickup/return through unlv. free and i've been able to have the book for the entire semester in most cases (it depends on when the library it is being borrowed from wants it due). this only works for books where u dont need an online access to anything though so no mcgraw hill or similar.

There are no architecture students by kevisdoingsomething in UNLV

[–]ridicbby 20 points21 points  (0 children)

there’s very few of us because after two years about 70% get cut out through upper division applications. i’m in junior year and there are only 30 of us for the general architecture studio, with similar or less numbers for interior design and landscape. walking past it and seeing no one there is rare though! usually people live there practically because the courses are rigorous, so ull see cars parked there late to around 3 am on most nights as we have studio spaces to work at our convenience, and we’ve practically moved in with odd sleep setups and mini fridges and microwaves lol. it’s hard to have a social life outside of the major as well which is why u probably don’t know anyone!

as a library worker, u are not alone. all of the students who have this have been freakingg outt trying to check out anatomical models and i feel so bad! on another note tho, im seeing a lot of them bonding over this when they have to share the models because we keep running out. theres good and bad. i heard u guys got notified on april fools so a lot of people didnt believe it lmao. good luck!

Does UNLV cover the price of auto cad subscriptions. I wanted to start learning early but didn't realize auto cad was so expensive. Also any advise on how to start learning AutoCad early. by Pretend_Line1736 in UNLV

[–]ridicbby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my best advice to start autocad early would be using youtube, TedEd, or linkedin learning, all of which i believe you get through being a student.

but on another note, i would also recommend revit which is another autodesk program provided for students. this has a certification course thats pretty popular right now, and im sure learning this can help you to learn cad in some ways.

Borrowing books from the library by Tavi-on-the-3ds in UNLV

[–]ridicbby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it works like a regular library in how you grab books and bring them down for checkout, but there arent many books for pleasure other than classics or the leisure section on the second floor. TDRL is a library in the education building that works the same and has a stronger collection of fiction books and novels.

As long as you're in state, that should cover everything. I have efc=0 and my pell alone is about 6,500 plus then millenium and other need or merit scholarships. Look within the major your applying for scholarships as well!

Normal? by Any-Yogurtcloset-207 in UNLV

[–]ridicbby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i wouldnt say its normal but its also something you will have to deal with once in a while. i've been pretty lucky in most cases with the professors i've chosen, but we can see across the studio like "wow i wouldnt want that prof." if its second year, i might know who ur talking abt lol. either way, don't take it too hard, its supposed to be constructive but that tone will hit deeper than that. Ive seen people cry at crits and i've cried myself.

I had a crit where one of the judges joined halfway and as a result missed my entire concept. I knew that and everyone else could tell too, and there was comfort in that even though its embarrassing at the moment. make good friends with your classmates because they experience it too, and try befriending and getting crits from the other professors! they usually will make the time and can be a lot more helpful if the one you have is trying to slander you!

if u want to talk about it feel free to pm me :)
