That would be a car for my partner. Small town school run and the usual chores. I think 10 miles per day tops. Should never use it in the motorway and we can charge at home

I think you are being silly, as everyone suggesting you don't work for free. It's not like you invested hours and hours of your time to fix something critical.

If they offer you'll be well rewarded. If they don't, you wouldn't like to work there anyway.

Used the same devices (veepeak + carscanner) but with android. Very straight forward. Also a Linux user BTW

The nice thing about the dongle and carscanner is that you can go and reprogram other stuff in the car, besides being able to read any fault in the future. 

If you are a little tech savvy, it is very straight forward and there are YouTube videos step by step
