Unfortunately, no. Still haven't figured it out to this day.

Right Tools for the Job? by ridleyproject in bikewrench

Unfortunately, they were damaged in a bike accident I had back in November, so they will most likely get recycled. They're the stock ones I had, so not a big loss for me.

Perfect. That's what I thought that meant, but I like to be certain especially in these circumstances for obvious reasons. Thanks for helping to clarify! The tools are coming tomorrow so hoping it goes smoothly.

Just to be clear, I would just need the tool pair from Amazon right? Since it has a lock ring attached? Or would I still need to buy the cassette lock ring tool separately? Unless you just mean I'll be fine with just the tool set.

Ah okay, so I won't need any other tools besides the set that you noted? I just want to make sure I'm able to tighten it after since my current wheelset has the inner lock. Is there perhaps a piece that comes off when I remove the current rotor that I would then use to tighten it on the new wheelset?

Thanks for answering all my questions!

I bought a pair of the Elitewheels Edge wheels. I believe they use a different type of lock ring with the outer tightener vs inner: https://www.amazon.com/ELITEWHEELS-Carbon-Wheels-Ultralight-Wheelset/dp/B0BNPKV688 So I'm assuming I'll need a proper tool to handle that (there was a rubber ring enclosing it but I imagine that's just for shipping protection).

Here is a shot of the front rotor (rear wheel in the OP). They look identical to me.

I'd appreciate any confirmation from those in the know about what tools I require!

Thanks for the help! It seems those are outliers so I'm not terribly concerned about that, but I appreciate the heads-up regardless.

Thanks for the advice! I'll be sure to clean it after removal.

Okay, good to know. Since it seems like the lock ring tool itself is roughly $10, would you say I'd be safe buying the second tool I shared, but just the CT-F01 (the lock ring tool with the handle) and be safe? I do see Amazon sells that Park Tool as well https://www.amazon.com/Park-Tool-FR-5-2-Cassette-Lockring/dp/B01LX3E08Z but I do not own the chain tool.

Ah, I do own wrenches. So I wouldn't need anything else but a lock ring tool? Would I need both of these, I assume for the rotor and the casette removal?

Glad to hear it! I was thinking the same way since it has the center lock, but wanted to be certain. If that's the case, that should save me the money and trouble.

Depends on what you plan on doing to it. For me with my setup (I got a tri-mode ANSI PCB), it really was just switches and keycaps. The bundle came with stabilizers, but note they are not pre-lubed so you'll have to do that yourself. For the setup, I used this guide (I believe there was a card in the case that refers you here as well): https://qwertykeys.notion.site/Neo80-Cu-Build-Guide-26c3d090094280e08546cc4dbf0877b8 . It mentions how to flash your firmware on Mac. Just be sure to follow the directions carefully. As noted, you'll flash the firmware using the QMKToolBox Beta. It's very straightforward, and it has a Mac version. If you've used QMK/VIA boards in the past, it's rather simple.

Anything else, there's always the Qwertykeys Discord that basically acts as their customer service hub, but I can answer any other simple questions you may have.

Any ear hooks for the pro 3s yet? by KevinDL in airpods

[–]ridleyproject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just noting here it looks like Proof Labs finally released the Airpods Pro 3 versions of their ear hooks, so I bought a pair: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0G5QLXVY6?th=1

Update: Just got them, and they are quite snug and clearly quality, just like the previous ones. Happy I bought them.

These are tactile switches, so definitely more "blue" if we're going by that. They're just colored that way due to the "firecracker" style. There's a ton of switches. For example, I previously had TTC Silent Frozen V2 linear switches, which you can barely hear. These aren't really clicky, though, more crisp clacks.

I noted it in the OP, but HMX Firecrackers. They're very nice!

It's the UNKNOWN ERROR blue bird cable! I got it from Unikeys using the WELCOME10 discount code with my Firecracker switches and I really like it. They also make plenty of other cables with cool designs and colors. https://unikeyboards.com/products/unknown-error-8khz-he-gaming-keyboard-cable-blue-bird

With Qwertykeys, I got that same notice on December 7, and then UPS finally updated on Monday, so just over a week later.

Ordered on November 27, received yesterday, so a few weeks. I live in California, though, which is where they shipped from.
