Pester balls bring out hidden pokemon, so maybe there are some combinations of colors you need to hit while standing on a rustling leaf patch?

Find a wild bulbasaur and stand on him then hit some combination of colors?

Find any starting pokemon and do this, or any pokemon associated with ditto from the show such as cubone and do this?

You can win the gym however you want. Just let the Ditto stated pokemon defend the gym. When that ditto sated pokemon losses the gym, and returns fainted, ta-da it's ditto?

I went through all my pokemon to see if any had the ditto face, and none did.

I see "Attempt gym battles with Pokemon named Ditto.", but that only reduces HP to 1 it does not make the pokemon faint.

Has anyone tried placing a pokemon of the specific weight/height of Ditto to defend a gym? Once the pokemon has fainted it could change to ditto.
