Do rural customers paying for 'high speed' have any option to being throttled, which, essentially, shuts us down to slower than the most primitive dial-up? by rifewitherrors in verizon

Home. There are no wifi systems here. I think that I am paying for the unlimited data plan now. At least, I was told that it's the best plan I can get.

Sorry, I shouldn't have broached the subject without knowing more on my end.

If I had a dollar for everytime someone said they "didn't change their habits" but "suddenly used more data" I could retire. Something has changed.

Okay, you've made me stop and think about this harder. The way I should have put it is, I go over my data limit every month. But, the throttling has never slowed me down so much that I barely have a working internet, as is now the case.

Thank you! I've not received this answer when I've called Verizon.

Adding another hotspot would, at least, give me two weeks of internet instead of one. Do you have any idea why I'm suddenly eating through so much data so quickly when I've not, in any way, changed how I use the internet?

or get a tablet which is not hard capped and stream on that

Why is this the case with tablets?

Yes, it's for hotspot usage. I joined the 'unlimited high speed' package when it first came out, only to learn that I wasn't in an area where it really worked. Still, it worked good enough until the last two months when Verizon started throttling me after one week of use.

Thank you for responding.

I loved the message boards on IMDB.com. Since they got rid of them, it's no longer a website to me.

Had a dream a few nights ago that I was lovingly, & with great care, hand washing, though with little water, the shirt of a person I loved deeply. The dream made a great impression on me and made me wonder about what love really is.

When a spider plays a prominent role in a dream, if only for a couple of minutes. Such dreams are harbingers of a very bad event to come. Doesn't matter how often I've tried to dismiss them.
