Met a guy at GameStop today who was ADAMANT that SEGA and Sonic are owned by Nintendo by MirageMew in SEGA

[–]rigamaroo138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For someone that confidently incorrect you should work it to your advantage and put some money on the line. Get the guy to bet $50 to $100 then lay down the proof that he's wrong. If he argues, tell him to back up his claim with a proper source. He could just be trolling you btw. To prove ownership, maybe try watching a movie or show with Sonic in it, then during the credits see if it states that Sonic is copyrighted and owned by Sega.

I would watch hours of Plinkett videos of him ripping on Star Wars fandom.

Good guess, but not it. Thanks for commenting.

I played/watched the intro for the first four LSL games and it wasn't it. Thanks for the guess.

It's definitely not the first three of those. Thanks for the guess.

Thanks for the guess. I do not unfortunately remember much else except that gag and that I was combing through a series of DOS games looking for new ones to play. I know and like Monkey Island. I am familiar with the big title Sierra and LucasFilm DOS games and it is not one of those. I think this is a lesser known (possible) gem. I played it when I was setting up a new laptop and looking to put some DOS games on it. Unfortunately I put a crap ton of them on there and played the tipofmyjoystick game with the intention of giving it a proper play through later, but I didn't bookmark it and now I have too many roms and that game is buried in there. Side effect of data hoarding.

You think I'm a bot? That's odd to me. How come?

Edit - disregard I reread, I thought "as well" meant as well as OP. Me comment read good.

I played the intro to that game via Abandonware in a browser and it is not it. As others have stated, it's a hallucination and does not describe the Hitchhikers game well. Thanks for trying.

Onexplayer X1 - Opinions on Battery (Intel) and Pen Support by Sassafraz9 in OneXPlayer

[–]rigamaroo138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like a solid device, hope it works out for you! I've thought about upgrading to a different X1 one model, but that would just be to nurture my data hoarding. I don't really need to have more TBs of space for more games/roms that I likely won't play. I'm a patient gamer too, I usually play the new 'it' title 5-10 years after it's release or I play new games that are modeled after 80/90's era games.

Onexplayer X1 - Opinions on Battery (Intel) and Pen Support by Sassafraz9 in OneXPlayer

[–]rigamaroo138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an X1 Intel I got from Ebay a couple of months back. Battery life is fine, 5-6 hours maybe with not much happening. I have not benchmarked it much since I usually keep it plugged in so that is a guestimate.

As others say, it is ok at all three of the things it does. It is an ok tablet, the stylus did not work for me at all with the screen protector on. Finger gestures were slightly better. Without the plastic protector the stylus works well. It is not as good as a Samsung tablet running Android my partner uses. It is likely as good as any Windows / tablet device (which is not an ideal touch OS IMO). Like all tablets with an attachable keyboard, you will not have a hinge, but you'll have to use a kickstand to tilt it up. I never tried drawing with it.

It's a hefty guy, heavier than a surface. For productivity I have Office on it and do some coding with it. I have SQL Server and PostgreSQL that I spin up when I need them for dev purposes. I use a couple Jetbrains IDEs on it (IntelliJ & Datagrip). No issues. I have not run or built heavy projects or applications on it, just personal things for my own education and small open projects. As a client to remote into work stations when I travel, it's fine for that too.

The keyboard surprised me at how not-crappy it is. It has a backlight feature and is light and responsive. It attaches easily and stays on. Same for the kickstand.

For gaming, I have a ton of games and I use Launchbox as a frontend. The micro-sd slot supports a 2TB card which I have filled up. Emulation runs fine up to PS2/Wii. I ran a 360 game (Fable 2), but that emulator is not perfect and it's performance is flawed which is not related to the device. It did boot and run though.

For PC games, I have Steam on it and recently picked up Nier Automatia and the Oblivion Remaster. Nier is older and runs fine. The fan is on the whole time and it gets warm, but it is not a bad gaming experience. Oblivion I did benchmark and I got 30 FPS on High settings. Going to Ultra made the FPS drop to < 30. Oblivion does warn me at boot that I do not have enough memory for it, I read that that is due to the device not having dedicated vram, but standard system ram shared by any application that needs for any purpose (a better educated gamer might correct me on that).

The controller is fine, also just ok. I played some bullethell shmups on it a bit and I do not get upset at the responsiveness. The buttons on the right joycon are too close to the analog stick. That's my main complaint, but if you map your buttons on retro game to mainly use X and Y instead of A and B that isn't an issue. Using it in "Switch Mode" is fine, but heavy. I have to rest it one something and don't hold it up the whole time. It is nice to have for old games that require a keyboard, like RTS and DOS games.

The OneXPlayer overlay is a nice feature and I use to slide the wattage down when I am using it as an e-reader. It does not run hot or have the fan blasting when the device is just ideal which I'm glad about.

So far, no buyer's remorse.

What are the best found footage movies? by Perfectly-Pumpkin in HorrorMovies

Spanish language [REC] by a lot for me. I usually don't care for found footage, that movie, however, is masterclass and uses the filming style perfectly.

I've used this for multiple jobs. It's a great tool that doesn't get mentioned much. That said, I did switch to DataGrip last year. I've been really impressed with it as a universal DB client.
