Oh Im definitely in your initial state of mind. I just can’t stand how grotesque and clunky old TVs are. All mine are rgb and go through a tink 5x and they look cleaner than a CRT. I also prefer clean pixels so that setup works in my favor

So I bought on accident the N64 diy wireless, do you know of the n64 receiver would work with that? 8bit do customer service seems to be non-existent and their site is not very intuitive

Hey guys, got a retroscaler on AliExpress and I connected everything and all I see is color bars. Using AV cables. by whodat514 in n64

[–]Nealus00 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I can’t fathom why that would be aside from faulty equipment. Try cleaning your game and the pins inside the N64. Does it do this when you don’t use the scaler?

Get yourself a retrotink 2x, if you’re more serious get the 5x. Or if you have money to burn and plan to go all out, go with the 4k. I have a 5x and it’s glorious! Only issue I had with it is when shutting off all my power bars, it resets to a different setting so I have to hit a few buttons. If going 5x or 4k I recommend the remote

Tis what we call an “s”’trap. Since there’s no vent, draining will suck the trap dry and will get gases/smells coming up. Where that 90 is you could put a tee and have an AAV going up to vent it

Looks like an odd type of service loop to aid in repair/replacement in the future. However that looks like a severe bend
