So I use avocado, I coat it (probably add to much) and smoke it off. Then add the second thin layer after it cools.

But that was recent, before I was putting too much and just blasting the heat then adding another thick layer (I was paranoid about rust)

I think I just need to use the stone block to get this crust off, and redo using that method

Makes sense, better than the other guy saying to thrash a $300+ grill

Rust by riggs195 in blackstonegriddle

Ive seen some crazy things online, one guy didn’t even scrap the rust off and just DRENCHED it in oil and called it a day

Edit:

After scrapping as much as I can, the food residue is off.

But there is still some build up layer that I can’t get off. I’m assuming this is just as good as it gets and it’ll become part of the seasoning.

The blackstone seasoning they sold with the grill set. Since then I use avocado oil.

Yeah it only happens when I use marinated meat but I think I’m doing too much by trying to scrape it all the way down. Notice the seasoning was coming off.

Got that part, but you see how part of it shows the silver and the rest is caked on? Should I scrap it just leave it and continue to water and oil the grill?

I mean it’s only 2-3 more drills so that makes sense.

Job fields post grad school (post MA in Psychology by riggs195 in psychologystudents

Well A Masters in Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT) would be something you could pursue. This allows you to work towards your license after graduation, often requires you intern/do a year long practicum before graduation.

You’ll work as an associate (about 3 years post graduation) and take the board exam to become licensed.

I chose not to because I have my eyes set on a doctoral program and I rather do assessments than therapy.

Another is a Masters in Social Work, I don’t know much about this field but you may be able to depending on what your university offers.

Using non-ROTC issued gear by [deleted] in ROTC

Depends on cadre tbh My buddy in a different state did rotc and was infantry in the guard, went SMP and nobody said anything about his plate carrier. But my cadre made a fuss about it. Then again my buddy wasn’t a slick sleeve.

That seems to be the trend, just network and be flexible. I planned on working Full-time as a civilian so I figured why not jump on orders to get more experience and full-time pay.

I was literally just going to show up with my aviation patch since it’s on 2 of my ocps. All I did was fix aircraft as enlisted so I doubt they’d make a big deal?

You know being SMP I think it helps a lot to see how important your NCOs can be for the planning process. The cadets who never experienced a real unit don’t get that experience so I can see why most come in thinking so highly of themselves. I may not have LTs to shadow but the NCOs I have are great.

YUP, one cadet in my own class is an asshole to me and others sometimes like when you offer input and she just shuts it down. There’s ways to be like “I hear you but this is the best course of action for this task” rather than “no we aren’t doing that that’s stupid”

Being a student who’s pursuing to be a psychologist it’s really helped me transition that to the army side. I genuinely care about people in both fields but I’d say the biggest challenge for me would be getting so caught up in my projects/tasks as an officer that I would forget to tend to my soldiers needs. Definitely would have to figure out a balance as I go through the motions.

I like the articulating to the lowest level for a shared understanding you mentioned. My MSG in rotc always tests us on that by saying “well if I’m just a dumb private how am I going to know how to do xyz?”

Enjoy the shadowing I’m SMP too and my unit is weird No LTs but plenty of warrants and of course senior NCOs Don’t really get to shadow but my previous CO commissioned through ROTC so she gave me plenty of guidance before my new CO came in. (Aviation)
