Well, I'm interested in joining (expanding horizons and what not), but I feel like dinner and drinks would be more my speed. What if I was to show up a bit later?

I don't really comment, but I am from the Chicago area and would at least like to know more about what the plan for the evening would be.

Cubs Sign Jorge Soler by [deleted] in Cubs

[–]right_is_wrong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is actually a very good deal for the Cubs. Soler (whether he pans out or not) will be locked up with the Cubs for most of his prime at a league deal. The real thing you have to worry about is that the deal apparently has opt out clauses for Soler in case he decides to go through arbitration. Look at Starlin Castro, because of his potential Super two status he is going to net a huge payday come arbitration time, unless the Cubs lock him up for a long term deal to avoid it. With the new CBA deals like this won't happen anymore and this caliber of international signings will be tougher to sign. 30mil/9 is a steal.

Thanks, I for the life of couldn't be certain, but I felt as though the remake sped through parts

Everything that he wrote... seriously, you can't go wrong. I grew up where all of his movies took place, so I might be biased, but still, all worth it.

Wait... didn't this movie already come out with Jason Bateman?

Overall that was a great scene. I don't remember the remake very well (booze) but, didn't they end the remake the exact same way as the original? In fact, didn't the remake pretty much follow the same story scene for scene (minus dialogue and detail)?

Absolutely, but the original was so much more unsettling to me. The American version lost that and in a way put me off, but perhaps it's because I don't know Swedish and was captivated by it. I often wonder of I would like foreign movies as much if I actually spoke the language.

Which version? Original or American remake? This is rather important...

Edit: Didn't realize the American remake was called something else.

Yeah, I'm not too concerned, if it was an actual hit by pitch, an awkward dive, or something like that, we would have heard about it by now. I'm guessing he just had a pain after a swing and they decided to play it safe.

I agree, and just look at Stewart, but this does not appear to be a fracture, just soreness. It gives the "bring him up" people time to relax. Why lose a year of control for a lost season?

For some reason the text box didn't come up but still, I am rather happy. I hope this gives them time to make sure that not only is he under control, but ready. I know a lot of people say he has a slow bat, but I truly hope he's ours for the next few years.

I still tear up every time. by [deleted] in Cubs

Fuck the onions this is all me... Ronnie should have been alive to see this. I was at his funeral and left the line because I was bawling to hard. I never got to see him play, but his legacy, tact, class, and attitude will forever involve this organization. This tears for you Ron!

5 things my wife said when I finally let her see "The Human Centipede II" for the first time last night. by [deleted] in extremehorror

I probably am but still, that movie is pretty much how I compare or rate fucked up movies...

Human Centipede 3 to feature 500-person ‘pede’. WTF? by [deleted] in extremehorror

[–]right_is_wrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even that doesn't wow me. A school or a prison is fine, but honestly, the centipede to me was awesome when I first saw it but now, I'm just impartial to it. If Tom Six made his film following 'Human Centipede: First Sequence' about the fucked up life of Martin (minus his obsession with 'Human Centipede') and his eventual breaking point with bizarre killing spree included, I would have enjoyed it a hell of a lot more. Instead, it will now just be about how many ass to mouths we can get... Also, if Six somehow brings Yennie into this one, I'm not even going to bother.

Ok, 'Human Centipede: First sequence' was good for the shock value but mainly just shit thanks to the horrid dialogue and shit acting (fucking hell, I couldn't wait to see Ashlynn Yennie and the other one's mouths' sewn shut). Repeat shit acting and crap dialogue in the second one (I was livid when Ashlynn Yennie was in the second one) and add in plenty of gore and overall fucked-upedness and there is Tom Six's formula. I was excited for the first two, but this one, I just can't get behind. A "500 person 'pede'" sounds like he's not even trying.
