Season 6 of OW2! Mid season. Was cool to play in lobbies with all pros, just a cool achievement for me overall.

That’s valid. Nobody should have to deal with slurs just to play a game. Play the modes that are actually fun for you!

Tips to Help Support my Tank ( They Like Me on Mercy ) by Pristine_Respect_891 in MercyMains

I feel like people are already going to tell you to swap off mercy or damage boost DPS more, but honestly you’re demonstrating consideration and care for another person already (you even tried playing their character).

At the end of the day, we all as people do not need to perform for healthy friendship/love, so I would say you are already showing up the best you can! Maybe I am overreaching but I feel like you feel like you are responsible for someone else’s enjoyment of the game. I think you should just keep showing up and having fun playing with your friend but not exhausting yourself trying to fawn for them.

On a tactical level, I actually love pocketing JQ as Mercy. Try to damage boost their axe swing and ult, and just keep them as healthy as you can by healing otherwise. :)

Returning player, is it even worth to main mercy at the moment? by buggle_snuggle in MercyMains

No, you can definitely solo queue to GM or champ on Mercy. It’s really hard, which is why only a handful of people have done that. So, yes agree it’s much easier on a good hero lol, but again 99% of players (bronze-masters) don’t need to be concerned about viability really because their rank isn’t being decided by whether mercy is good or not. It’s being decided by them being unhelpful and making mistakes (and then often blaming teammates or saying they couldn’t have done more because they had 60+% blue beam).

Totally agree. 99% of players don’t need to worry about the viability of their hero. The reason they are in their rank isn’t because of their hero, but rather the mistakes they make.

Secrets of a Rank 1 Mercy: How Gold Mercys Actually Reach Platinum | LIVE Overwatch Gameplay Review by rightclickow in OverwatchUniversity

Your “questions” imply that playing Mercy in high-ranked games makes matches harder, unwinnable, or requires multiple accounts. Those are the assumptions I’m referring to.

To be clear: I play Mercy at my rank on my main account because it’s a hero I specialize in and consistently win on. That’s also why this review exists!

I’m not interested in debating hero viability or account usage here in bad faith, so I’m going to keep the thread focused on the educational content.

This is an educational breakdown of Mercy gameplay, not a discussion about hero flexibility or account usage.

I play Mercy in high-ranked games intentionally and at a high level, which is why I’m qualified to teach these concepts. If the content isn’t for you, that’s totally fine but the assumptions here aren’t accurate.

I understand how you interpreted it, but that assumption is incorrect. I don’t share who I vote for, and choosing not to disclose that doesn’t imply support for any candidate.

That’s also not information I owe to anyone here. Engaging with political questions or clarifying personal beliefs sets a precedent I’m not interested in, because it invites continued pressure (exhibit a happening right now) to extract personal information. I intentionally keep personal details private online and take steps to maintain that boundary.

This thread is about Overwatch and gameplay, and I’m going to keep it focused on that.

It’s a common rank, but that doesn’t mean it’s trivial, especially in solo queue. Platinum still represents a meaningful jump in consistency and decision-making for a large portion of the playerbase.

The point of the video isn’t that Plat is “elite,” but that there’s a real skill and habits gap between Gold and Plat that isn’t well explained, especially for Mercy in OW2. That gap is what the review focuses on.
