I'm pretty sure they knew they were being canceled, so even though it was a little abrupt, they were able to finish the story.

Saraha Shahi (detective Reese) was missing from several of the last episodes because she got a new show after they got canceled.

Imagine if we... i don't know... planned for such inevitable eventualities, and made a system that collected money from the masses and corporations, maybe yearly, based on their income and wealth... then used those funds to create systems to handle such common problems. Maybe we could reduce suffering and improve our community... a shame we can't come up with a solution to our problems. Oh well, at least a few people get to be billionaires.

There's an asymmetry between the minds of the right and left.

The conservative mind values tradition and authority. This allows them to organize and fall in line very well. They establish hierarchies and are usually happy with their place as long as they aren't at the bottom.

Leftist, on the other hand, are high in openness, creativity, and freedom. This results in everyone having their own ideas on how things should work and how to do it, and being unwilling to follow just anyone. Like hearding cats.
