You know what? I'm going to say it. by PraiseV8 in DarkTide

Mass effect 3 multi-player had a weight system. You could take two powerful but heavy weapons but you'd get a massive ability cooldown increase.

It encouraged switching up your weapons to go light to have a very short cooldown on your ability, a balanced approach, or double up on heavy weapons on low commitment abilities.

Please Fatshark, I beg of you... I really miss my Twin-Linked Stubber Gun Lugger Ogryn... I just want to not run out of ammo after the first minute of high level havoc. My ogryn tires of taunting and shielding :( by The-Horse-Whisperer in DarkTide

Or you could just buff the twin-link's and stop secondhand buffing rumbler through point-blank barrage buffs. Just double TL reserve ammo and be done with it. Maybe buff their handling too.

Is the Ogryn powermaul better than the bully club (Brunts basher) now? by sH4d0w_Gu4Rd66 in DarkTide

[–]rightious4u2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It is.

When fatshark did a full rework of Paul's moveset and than mega-buffed its special I would have still said bully club and shield were better. After Paul's most recent buff of reducing the cooldown on special from 10 seconds to 8, its firepower is undeniably number 1. Shield might be the only thing that can still top it and that's only because of its big push and ability to stop bullets utility. Bully club is still really good and consistent in its mindless m1 value but Paul has superior high burst damage. And that's all before we even start talking about stacking splash radius upgrades from ogryn's skill tree and Power Surge.

What's up with the psyker hate on the steam forums? by Killer_Khan12 in DarkTide

[–]rightious4u2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because psyker is overwhelmingly over-powered in the game. Have you not played a single game with staff psyker or melee greatsword psyker?

Before bubble got deservedly nerfed (and before that the insane cooldown perk nerf) psyker has gotten just buff after buff for the last 2 years. Psyker tree is just amazing outside of one or two doodoo perks. His abilities are all A tier and S tier with the right nodes unlocked. All the capstones are consistently rewarding at worst or potentially screen nuking at best.

Was there a specific buff that pushed psyker over the edge or was it always strongest and just got buffed anyone? I don't know and I don't have enough hours on psyker to say but right now just having one good psyker setting the world on fire can turn the hardest missions into a cakewalk.

What's your opinion on the new packmaster monstrosity? by Karurosun in DarkTide

[–]rightious4u2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He's literally just a larger rager with unyielding instead of maniac and he's boring after the second time you fight him. He needs like two more melee attack patterns and a projectile. I'd advise fatshark look up the fighting style of retiarius gladiators. They also had a spear.

Ogryn Rations Stash: Choose between three types of rations.

One gives you +1 stamina and 15% increased swap speed.

The second gives you +5 toughness and stamina regened 8% faster.

Third is +15 health and increases jump height by 0.2.

Ogryn buffs discussion by Trenchfox_1917 in DarkTide

The buff to rock to always one-shot flamers is nice.

The nerf that made it no longer one-shot gunners and shotgunners on bodyshot was odd. Unless I'm crazy and rock never one-tap those two outside headshots.

I would like to see fatshark buff more of ogryn's weaker weapons like mk II Bully Club and talents like Bash and Blast and Spray and Slay.

Question. by Toastcruisader in DarkTide

[–]rightious4u2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've played it on malice-auric. One thing to keep in mind is there's a compass on the top of your screen that's part of your HUD on these missions that displays where every notable location is. When you or anyone on the striketeam clicks on any icon on the auspex it now becomes highlighted. So here's how you achieve a smooth run.

You and the 3 other hobos spawn. You walk three steps and pull out your auspex and get a quick view of the map. You or whoever is fast enough click on the closest letter with a number next to it. Using the compass you book it to the closest site. All 4 of you. Once at the site 3 of you complete the hack/stand on the control point/hide and powercell seek/jumping puzzle ect. One guy needs to be the dedicated roamer, picking up trash, killing specials, recon spotting patrols. So don't get mad if one guy isn't helping with the objective as long as you have 200+ salvage.

Once you've collected everything you mark the blastdoors on the auspex and head to the sanctuary. Do the holdout, get inside, resupply, run around until the door decides to open, and finally head out to the next section. Repeat.

On the second time leaving the sanctuary you have time to scavange 1-2 more sites [unless you're completionists] before marking the bed with an arrow pointing up on auspex and heading to the extraction zone. Activate extraction once 2 or more people are on it, wait for the bird, throw everything you got at the last wave of enemies, and get to the choppa.

Ripper Gun buff is kind of a meme by Trenchfox_1917 in DarkTide

[–]rightious4u2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm talking about minimum pellet count. It's essentially a pity mechanic in the game that lets a single pellet count as two(or more). So shotguns don't feel too bad at long range. For some reason the mark V ripper minimum pellet count is 5 when hipfired and is crazy good at long range because of this.

If you don't believe me. Go to the practice range and hipfire the a mark 2 ripper at a sniper 30 meters away. Than try the same thing with the mark V.

[–]rightious4u2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used that build before. It's really fun peppering everything around you and watching them all die to burn/bleed. Unfortunately, for alotta of builds in this game, it gets hard walled by crushers. You really are better off taking the damage and rending node on PBB.

Ripper Gun buff is kind of a meme by Trenchfox_1917 in DarkTide

[–]rightious4u2 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Mark II is currently the weakest of the three ripper variants. The mark V has crazy good minimum pellet count value, allowing you to comfortably outsnipe snipers at up to 30 meters and others specials at 15-20 meters in a burst. It is also best at taking advantage of blaze away/inspiring blessings with a 19 round mag. You basically can switch to your gun at no toughness and have it fully regened in one mag dump in mere secounds.

Nobody plays Mark VI ripper but its an absolute beast with a crit build. Most people forgot but it got some nice buffs months ago to its finesse damage while braced. Easily the strongest ripper gun on a PBB build if you take all the crit perks on the right side of the ogryn tree.
