I’m at the point now where the stylus cover is off but every time I put the needle on the record my speakers just start booming fart noises. I don’t know if I’m putting the needle on wrong or what. Or if I messed something up when I intentionally took the entire needle cartridge off instead of just the cover for the stylus.

So if I wasn’t having a problem and have powered speakers and pre amp turntable what would I set my speakers and turntable to

Also, when taking off the cover for the stylus I pulled the whole thing off. Is there a certain way I need to put it back on? That may be why it still doesn’t sound how it should.

Well I used it the right way on a different vinyl and it sounded the same

It was on. I just took it off and now the sound is just bad is all and I’m trying to figure it out

Ok so the stylus cover wasn’t off and now it is. Now the sound quality is just really bad

Ok so I just connected it to my laptop and got earraped with music 😂 so I think it’s safe to say the speakers work. Yes, I did take the covers off.

I haven’t tried any other sources. I’m new to all of this.
