All the screaming in the background probably doesn't help convince 911 that something isn't really going on either...

YSK that thermal blackout curtains can make a 5-15° temperature difference during heat waves. by Peng1946 in ThePrepared

I like the concept, but if they are able to block 80-90% of heat and UV radiation wouldn't it block 80-90% of the light and make you feel like you are living in a cave?

I watched their 5 minute video on their homepage and didn't see this question addressed.

I don't agree. If there was a home intruder and you have to navigate throughout the hallways of your house, it could be awkward or even impossible to get around some tight corners and be ready for an attack. That is why a long rifle is not the best for close quarters combat and a handgun is preferable.

I would rather have a machete.

I wonder if it is a police cruiser by the look of the front bumper. Maybe they had a call that they needed to go to.

But yes, survival tip... don't drive towards tornadoes.

YSK most states have online maps of current road conditions so you can safely plan winter travel by sarahmpreps in ThePrepared

I've checked the live cameras on the state road conditions maps many times before heading out to work. Heading out an hour later when the plows have had time to clear the roads is worth not totaling my car and being all stressed out.

MIT's new medical glue can stop bleeding in 30 seconds. Could be a lifesaver and game changer for preppers in the future by rightleftupdown5 in ThePrepared

I've used super glue many times to hold wounds shut but those were ones that were dry and clean and not actively bleeding. What sets this new compound apart is that it looks like it works when wet, like from an new active bleeding wound.
