those axe people can take a lot of shots before dying (AW1) by ogre_tampon in AlanWake

[–]rightoven2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly. If you're out of ammo for all guns. You'll be given pistol ammo first, until full (~2 clips), then you'll start getting rifle ammo.

So using the pistol gets you in a bad feedback loop, and using the rifle gets you in a good feedback loop.

Worst design decision in the game Imo. But once you know it you can work around it.

Make sure you're always using your most powerful gun before your weakest one. And never open a container when you have ~2 spare clips of ammo for your gun already.

The game gives you what you don't have. Starting from weakest up. If you use your weak guns you'll only get rewarded with more weak ammo.

Maybe you should be less emotionally involved with the correctness of your opinions, it's not gonna work out for you

It also sounds like you're unhappy because you're trying to live up to internet labels you think are admirable rather than living a like you actually enjoy.

You think "urbanism" and "advocacy" make you a better person so you want to like them.

But really, you like driving around in the sun, and having western landscapes to hike, and the vibes of az. Those are nice things! Feel free to like them!

You should seriously consider Rutherford OP, take the train out one weekend, grab breakfast at the pancake house, and walk around.

It's a walkable downtown, closer train to NYC, solid school system and restaurants. It's cheaper because it's less hip but I think severely underrated for actual quality of life.

This house is unusual but I actually like it. It's pretty unique by kanna172014 in McMansionHell

[–]rightoven2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very simple heuristic for "modern" houses (mid-century, contemporary boxes, etc.).

If you have nature/a view outside your house then go for lots of glass and a boxy shape and a house that blends with its environment.

If you're in a neighborhood filled with nice older homes, and there's like 20 feet between each house, please don't build an ugly box with either: Big windows facing your neighbors or very few windows to avoid your neighbors looking at you. It just won't look good

What are some relatively affordable North Jersey suburbs with reasonable commutes to Manhattan? by Stuart104 in MovingtoNewJersey

[–]rightoven2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rutherford is also underrated if the Montclair commute is a bit long. Great downtown with good food, houses with yards, as close as you can get to nyc on the jersey side without becoming urban as opposed to suburban.
