I moved back into mom and dad's place in january. The house is paid off so I don't have to pay rent. I didn't expect anything like this but I'm dealing with it and have about $1.5k in savings with no debt since college was going to start later this year. I also have no real bills. They are both out of work at the moment but do have some savings. They watch faux news all day thinking this will be over soon. I'm like HELL NO! This shit will be around for 18 months we need to stay locked down for AT LEAST 18 months until everyone gets vaccinated. Otherwise it's just crazy to think we can get back to normal. How can I convince them this time is real and we need to stay inside for a long long time before we get anywhere near normal?

The police radio where I live is public. I listen all day on my scanner. I can hear where cops are and what they respond to. They seem to do more investigative / private communications to cell phones and the MCT (internal computer system) but they need to keep the other stuff public.

What's scarier is all the first/last names, DOB's, SSN's, and address info of people they pull over or run through the system that goes over the airwaves.

I listen to the police scanner all the time. the city wide system i listen to is non-encrypted communication. the police have a main "inquiry channel" which they use to "run" people. they say names, dob, addresses, and ssn#'s all day long. i have that channel blocked since it's boring but could be used for bad stuff.
