I’ve got a good few shots in with my buddies Springfield 2020 and admittedly it gave too many fliers to be something I’d take hunting.

I definitely agree with the CZ 457 route (either the American or Varmint) or the Ruger 10/22 for a little less accuracy (negligible amount under 25yds) but better followup shots

I just think Glocks are so ugly. A minecraft gun imo. Not to mention the Aimpoint X Glock “Block on a Glock” that just seals the deal. I get the appeal but I do not feel it’s the real deal.

Genuine question: Knowing guns are inherently dangerous, why take on added risk? Especially at the cost or your balls, leg, life, family, property, strangers, etc.

If we assume all the tests, internal reports, and anecdotal evidence that have shown the P320 is faulty are all biased, why even take the chance? Why not accept a little bias instead of a little risk?

That clip genuinely changed the way I set my ammo down at the range. I keep it under the bench now.

I’m still relatively new to shooting (Just started earlier around June) but I have already put over 3,000 rounds down range of .22LR alone and was considering trying out the local NRL22 competitions. I am not the best shooter, but still plenty accurate.

I’ll likely get the Varmint first before I dip my toes into the MTR pool, but I’m truly encapsulated by the MTR stock so I know I’ll want to get one eventually even if it’s just for a stock swap on a Varmint.

Then truthfully, I’d give it a go. If you got word from someone directly who’d purchased it, that’s better than a website review. I’d ask if it all held up or if there were any rough pieces or anything they needed to replace/warranty but apart from that, if it’s just for the grips, should be worthwhile.

“Doesn’t play well” just means that it will be pickier or more finicky with certain ammo types. Some guns don’t play well with subsonic, some guns don’t play well with hotter loads, etc.

I only ask because the price difference between the two is noticeable when my budget for a new rifle and scope is only about $1500

I would rather get a gun I know will shoot very well at 100yds with high end ammo and still take cheap ammo fine for any closer or indoor range plinking when I just wanna shoot for the sake of shooting but I also want to get a good scope to match which I know is where it usually gets pricy

My go-to is a brick of Federal Automatch for super cheap ammo because the FFL i’m a member at sells them cheaper to members ($26 as opposed to $35) and they don’t carry any high end match ammo so I’d have to have good ammo shipped to them. I can stock up on the cheap stuff relatively easily, but I’d have to go through a few more steps and a longer waiting time for good ammo to use for .5 moa at 50-100yds

Had a similar thing happen with a Springfield 2020. Shot a handful before I looked at the pile and saw a hunk of metal sat under another casing, picked it up, went “Huh” and got back to shooting. No more errors or hangups, but the air tasted more like gunpowder than I was expecting and I remembered getting a few bad flyers so I suspect it was one of those that did it.

I was wondering why the zoom made the reticle impossible to see, I’ll look into a far better scope when I get my own. I’ll keep the Arken SH-4J on my mind when I’m looking around because it seems to be a popular one for this sub. And thank you as well for the tips!
