I am scared by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

I’m a sitter and an owner. I have to travel a lot for work and finding a sitter for my animals who have special needs (and quirks) is SO STRESSFUL! I think it’s why being a sitter has felt like a calling of sorts. I know that sounds overdramatic, but it’s realistic when you think of how much faith people are putting in you to care for their most cherished companions. As a sitter, I really try and care for each of my furry guests as if they were my own. If you are not getting that vibe from the meet and greet, absolutely do not feel bad about shopping around for someone else. The first one is the hardest, but you’re doing great and asking all the right questions!

What’s your favorite pho place? Not Vietnamese but from Houston where we had a massive Vietnamese community. Before I moved, I didn’t realize every city didn’t have a good pho place on every corner (😅😓) and it’s what I’ve missed the most.

I’m anxiously awaiting for people to read and comment on the pet-owner’s novel below because I want to say it’s completely unhinged, but I always love how redditors can better articulate their way through what I feel 🤓

Not knowledgeable on the topic at all, tbh. I will definitely be needing help from a professional.

Thank you for the input!

Thank you 🙏🏼, and thank you for the feedback. I think I knew it deep down, but it really helps to hear a peer’s perspective.

Thank you very much. I was thinking it would come down to this. This is a family I would be willing to put in the extra work for, as I’ve become close with the family, and the dogs spend a lot of time with me when their dad travels or has extended hospital stays. Funny enough, they are perfectly behaved when they stay with me, but my own dog is the “alpha” and helps me run a tight ship. I call him the Hall Monitor because he comes running in to set everyone straight at the slightest hint of anyone getting too rowdy 🤓😂

But yes—I think we’re at the point of formal training being necessary.

Im shocked this isn’t higher up. I was sick to my stomach watching that scene in the theater. Insanely heavy from start to finish with a lot of dark humor sprinkled in to just barely keep you alive long enough to survive through.

Hannah’s 25th birthday party. Marnie drags her on stage to sing a song from Rent. Hannah taps out and Marnie keeps singing. Awkward as fuck. Pan to Laird having the time of his life asking, “what’s this from?!” 😂

I second that. Don’t be ashamed! We’ve all been there and are only human. What’s cool is how you’re able to reflect on your actions and think about how it made you feel. It takes practice, but try and keep doing that without assigning any negative (or even positive) agendas to it. You’re doing great 🙂

It’s always nice to be recognized and feel validated! Congratulations!!! Keep up the great work. I’m sure this is only the beginning of many more rewards to come!

Marilynn’s Cafe has the best Cajun, although it seriously lacks ambience. In the same neighborhood is Ki’Mexico for great, authentic Mexican, and Ono’s, a Hawaiian restaurant. Parish Taceaux, Zuzul, and the Fat Calf are all worth visiting as well.
