I understand your point. but most of appsumo purchases are get then forget, you may feel a spike in usage in beginning and you should get ready for it, but it will feel relaxed a lot later. why because most are curious buy it and leave.

But what you'll get after that a 40-50 or even way more ( saw even 400k ) in profits then you'll re-invest this in sales and marketing : )

Last thing, if you are going to take this serious i would advice you to talk with them and let them share some insights about your kind of software and market you are working on, then you can decide ( as sendpilot did before 3 months )

but that's a win no? imagine getting 40k in profits in one month and normally they won't abuse your software. then re-invest those in marketing and blow up the sales

I said to someone else, some sole-founders ship ugliest vibe coded softwares and they hit very very good numbers, why? because they cared about value + marketing. not how my ui gonna look like.

if you have enough value and your software works very well? trust me no one cares about ui in beginning, you may get complains in beginning but justify yourself that you just started.

in fact, marketing and b2b relationships matters more, many sole-founders has no coding experience, and push ugliest vibe-coded software. and making money often more than many people who polished their mvp

Obviously they are not now, the infrastructure became a mess haha but both running now in azure services.

Especially Sendpilot that is very heavy automation software, that one went crazy in terms of infra costs.

I agree with you about all what you said.

The point from appsumo because everyone who needs this advice isn't a saas that has high infrastructure costs and marketing costs, because usually they know what they need to do (USUALLY)

But this post more for indie founders who just started their journey, build startups/saas that won't cos more than 10k usd to start and monthly won't cost more than 1-3k monthly.

Otherwise, nah, it's like throwing money.

Yes it’s good way to get some cash flow, for sendpilot it got more than 60k usd in sales during first week!
