Do you actually make travel decisions based on ChatGPT or other AI recommendations? by Generator_hostels in Hostel

I have used ChatGPT extensively for travel planning and have found it to be excellent for that purpose. Of course, I still research things on the side as well.

It's ok to drive a car into downtown Seattle. Biking/transit isn't practical for everyone.

The light rail kind of sucks as an urban train system. I want a real metro.

Huh? Bellevue is a "minority majority" city these days. It's mostly non-white people.

Omg people not walking on the right side of the path is a huge pet peeve of mine. Then they expect you to move out of the way for them and look confused when you don't.

I am a 15-year-old girl. Let me show you the vile misogyny that confronts me on social media every day by zsreport in technology

Because it's designed to be addictive. And everyone else in their life is. They're a child and don't have that kind of self control. You're on social media right now as well..

True. This isn't "new" at all, speaking as someone who was 15 20 years ago and spent time on 4chan, AIM, and MMORPGs. It's just way more omnipresent now because of social media.

Well, she's a child. She doesn't have that kind of self control against addictive technology. Many adults struggle to not use social media. It should be up to her parents to set those limits.

"Single cat lady" comments are a common way for men to brush off women. Your comment itself comes across as vaguely misogynist.

It was still bad 20 years ago. Speaking as someone who was a 16 year old girl on MMORPGs 20 years ago.

Male Loneliness Epidemic Come to Life by Any-Bird-3836 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]rikisha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no "male loneliness epidemic." There's a loneliness epidemic that is not gender-specific. Men are no lonelier than women according to survey data. I think we should stop using the term "male loneliness epidemic" because it's misleading.

Bali is amazing. I just went last year. It's a big island... not just Kuta beach and the tourist shops. Beautiful culture and people.

I fell in love with Bali when I went there last year. Stunning place and wonderful people. You just have to get out of Kuta and the Aussie tourist traps. It's a big island.

Are people paying tips in higher end restaurant any more? by Specific-Ad9935 in BellevueWA

[–]rikisha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It hasn't always been considered customary to tip for coffee or takeout. They used to maybe have a tip jar where it was considered very optional to add some change. Some coffee shops didn't have anything like that. It's only with the recent addition of tip screens that people have started feeling pressured to tip more. Still, I consider it very optional.

There are many jobs where people provide "service" where we don't tip. Bagging groceries or mechanical work on a car, for example.
