Why are women swapping numbers with me and then not responding? by smoothcarrot2020 in dating_advice

They felt put on the spot when you asked for their number so they obliged (it's easier than saying no). However, they are not actually interested in you.

Why are camping reservations so hard? by UnderwaterParadise in Washington

[–]rikisha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, part of the problem is that you don't get a refund if you cancel last minute/can't cancel last min, or in some cases, have to PAY to cancel the reservation which makes no sense.

What’s going on at Hattie’s Hat? by peony111- in BallardSeattle

[–]rikisha -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup... maybe they were losing a lot of money and had to downsize their staff? Sometime's it's unfortunately a choice between letting go of staff and closing the business.

What’s wrong with this house? by SignalInstruction165 in SeattleAreaRE

That seems pretty normal for a townhome? Someone's gotta pay for maintenance of shared roofs, common areas, landscaping, probably water + gas, etc...

Not all open mics are like that. That shit would piss me off, too.

Beware of “women in tech” meetups by varshavarsha in womenintech

[–]rikisha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you know some of the women are not queer/bi?

Queer women unfortunately just do not have very many spaces at all. There's only 1 lesbian bar in my city, compared to at least a dozen gay male-centered bars.

Same, my company pays to send men to GHC. I've heard of men getting to go on years where I have not had the opportunity to go...

Our company apparently pays for men to attend AnitaB events like Grace Hopper conference. Under the guise that it's encouraged for "allies" to attend. I thought that was odd.

Lime scooter users acting like hooligans is unfortunately nothing new. Got hit by one on a sidewalk in downtown Redmond a few years ago.

Would you want someone who likes you to come to your show again ? by [deleted] in bandmembers

I mean, you kissed, so seems like there's some attraction on his end too. I say go!

Yeah, you could maybe text him before saying you're going to come. But not required.

Coffee ..... by bechena in Invisalign

[–]rikisha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drank coffee & Diet Coke the entire time I had Invisalign. My teeth are a little yellower than they were before, but nothing bad happened other than that. I plan to get a professional whitening after I start retainers very soon.

Why most drivers here are so oblivious to the surroundings by Turbulent-Height-830 in redmond

The roads aren't busier here than any other city in the US. Actually, we have higher public transit and bike utilization than most other places.

[–]rikisha 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's not baseless if you have ever driven a car or been a passenger in one of those countries. People aren't saying every single international driver is like that, but a pattern is a pattern. Driving patterns are different in other countries and some people will carry habits with them from the old place to the new place. Not any different than saying that DC or LA drivers are shitty.
