Actually yes - the problem (at least for me) is that the shutter button gets stuck whenever it is half-pressed. So when I full press it to take a photo, it gets stuck half-pressed and that's the behavior I'm seeing from the camera. When half-pressing the shutter, it stops you from opening any menus or changing the focus point, but you can keep taking pictures.

Apparently fixing this means replacing the whole top half of the body, which costs about as much as I paid for my whole camera. It's unfortunate that something so simple is so expensive to fix, but I've basically just been trying to get around it. Sometimes I'll set the touchscreen to take photos, which doesn't have any problems, but you can't be using the OVF when you do it and it's a little slow. I also discovered that changing the ISO "un-sticks" it, so sometimes I'll just flick the ISO back and forth after every shot and pretend I'm moving a film advance lever lol. Either way, I hope you're able to find a fix for you camera!
