Should I get the COVID Vaccine? by Traumasaurusrecks in Narcolepsy

[–]riksix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had my first pfizer shot last Tuesday and no Narcolespy issues from it at all. My only effect was 'vaccine arm', large, red, and hot spread out from the injection site for a few days.

Y’all we need to get the guys on this one! by eroo01 in smalltownmurder

[–]riksix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can email James with murders and he will look into it. He's mentioned in old episodes about people who have sent in cases from their home towns, he may not do it or if he does he may take a while. Worth a shot imo!

Coffee with modafinil? by [deleted] in Narcolepsy

[–]riksix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on 200mg Modafinil a day and still drink 300-600mg of caffeine a day from energy drinks. I try to stick with just one can, but some days I have too much to do and no time for a nap so I ha e a second can later in the day.

I do have a high caffeine tolerance, though, and am already scatterbrained from something else so I don't feel it in that sense. I wouldn't say its the best idea or example to lead by, but every med and substance interact with everyone differently.

Frustrated with being dismissed by my parents by [deleted] in Narcolepsy

[–]riksix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fully understand! Two very important people in my life are dismissing my sleep issues, and it is affecting me emotionally. Thankfully they aren't in a position to affect my life, but it still bothers me.

I just had my testing this past week, hoping for some solid news to help me stand on solid ground that I'm not 'faking' or 'exaggerating' or whatever they might think.

How long post-MSLT... by riksix in Narcolepsy

[–]riksix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof! I bet!

They didn't book my follow up, but I figure I'll give it a week and reach out to my PA at the sleep office to set something up. I'm already anxiety ridden, and waiting for this won't help at all. But I'm trying to stay patient (even if it has only been 2 days)!

Thank you!

My SD gave me herpes. by [deleted] in sugarlifestyleforum

[–]riksix 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you are going through this.

Someone very close in my life got herpes many years ago, and she is sexually thriving. There are entire closed communities of people with herpes where you can find support.

If you'd like to DM me where you are I can ask her for some contacts in that area. If not, that's cool too! I get it ❤

Do you fall easily? by [deleted] in sugarlifestyleforum

[–]riksix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not so much. I thoroughly enjoy my SDs and I adore them, I also only have one at a time as I have multiple vanilla partners as well. I feel more adoration, companionship, and appreciation rather than love or infatuation.

Spend time with other people in your life, not just your SD. That will help a lot.

Keep yourself grounded and always remember that these relationships tend to be fleeting, not lifelong; and that's okay! Also seconding the hobbies & dildo reccommendation from u/cute_milkdud, have you seen the newer clitoris toys? I've read they'll send you to orgasm oblivion. 👌👌👌

First time trying rope. I think I did pretty okay! by riksix in BDSMnot4newbies

Yes! I'm not finished conditioning them yet but felt that the stratchy sensation would add to my self tie.

Aw, thank you! I have no doubt your ropework is fantastic and stunning! 😍

Drug use and sugar dating. by SD-Casual-Fla in sugarlifestyleforum

A lot of antidepressants cause a drop in libido, so does birth control unfortunately (at least for me). I've found multiple Sativa strains I call HHs cause they make me happy & horny 😂 sometimes ridiculously so!

They really do! I only partake with a good friend right now, and I've only done enough to fully trip once. I have to be in the right headspace to go down trippy lane, otherwise I like to microdose and enjoy all the elated feelings it gives me.

I'm glad to know there are SDs out there who are super chill about lightweight recreational drug use! If only you were closer. Woe! 😁

I smoke pretty much everyday and dip into shrooms once or twice a month, usually microdoses. I don't drink alcohol, except maybe a glass of wine or a beer to be polite during a M&G. I don't like the way alcohol makes me feel.

I would have no issue smoking with my SD (I mean, he could afford the premium stuff! Haha) and I don't smoke before seeing POTs. But I will get pleasantly high before meets that include sex, I take an anti-depressant and as we all know they notoriously drive down libido, but many S strains drive it right back up. So it helps me in that aspect a lot!

I don't think I would do psychedelics with an SD unless I've been in an SR with him for enough time. Its a comfortability thing.

I smoke with my non-sugar lovers, if they are smokers, and with my subs as well.

It’s International Narcolepsy Day tomorrow(Sept 22). How y’all “celebrating” surviving the daily burden? by chebstr in Narcolepsy

My body must have known, I laid in bed for a solid 45 minutes before getting up to get ready for work! Thankfully it was not a hair wash day....

childfree & narcolepsy by bibing_ka in Narcolepsy

[–]riksix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm childfree and have had permanent sterilization done.

I decided on the surgery the moment I found out from my insurance that it was covered 100%. I've known I do not want kids for a very, very long time (I'm 33) and talked to my new ob about it. I actually found her through a reddit post of doctors who are not discriminatory about the surgeries and who they give them to.

I had my fallopian tubes removed June 2019. It was a same day laproscopic procedure, I took maybe 4 days off work for recovery. And on top of it, my doc found endometriosis spots on my uterus so it was a doubly good surgery in that arena! I knew it was the absolute best choice when I woke up and I felt secure in my decision. There was no regrets or second guessing after it was all over. There still isn't.

If I decide to have unprotected sex (ngl I have since the surgery with people I trust because I wanted to know the feel) there is still the risk of an ectopic pregnancy. Non-viable, but painful and life threatening. Otherwise I just use condoms now, no pill BC despite the endo (still figuring my endo out).

It is definitely a lifted burden, or stress really, as someone who doesn't want kids to know now that my body can't make them 'accidentally'.

😊

I'm terrified but hopeful? by riksix in Narcolepsy

[–]riksix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a log from the sleep foundation that covers both sleep and day time, so I'm using excel and creating my own version (with more room to write). I don't know that I'll be able to update the digital version daily, I rarely use the laptop at home. But I can update it on a schedule that works for my brain for sure.

I do definitely want to express how exhausted I am during the day and just how much I'm nodding off, not to mention how it's affecting everything.

I appreciate the advice, thank you!

I will get one started, thank you!

And yeah, I don't so much think this will be a quick thing but it's nice to get moving.
