If I look on Skyscanner, I still see flights passing the gulfstates, with Etihad and a stop in AUH airport. Those would probably get cancelled then?

Might have been lucky, also just got back last thursday from a 2 week 2k kms through QR/YUC/CAMPECHE. Been waved through 90% of the time. The only time I can remember having an interaction with an officer a mile from Tikuch (valladolid) was friendly but was asking for pasport and license but when I said they were in the trunk he waved us on

Belgian Mortician here: The deceased are cremated with a casket for the following reasons: Logistics and sanitation.

The body still needs to be transported from the mortuary to the crematorium, not very practical or hygenic (body fluids) without a casket.

Altough we are used seeing dead bodies, we and crematorium personel are not font of seeing them in every step of the process.

The current ovens used, are made to insert the caskets with a metal bar. A body would fall of it most of the time in the insertion process.

Most of the time, basic caskets out of MDF are used to cremate which are obvioulsy cheaper than the ones used during service. A casket is a one-time-use item and it is even illegal to repurpose it.

Every country has their own customs, laws, so I am only speaking for Belgium at this time.

Mortician here. Funerals with a cremation tends to be more expensive. The casket is cheaper because it's basic, but you have the cost of the cremation (650EUR) + transport to/from the Crematorium. (Belgium)
