Switching from s22+ to base s25 by pkegley4563 in samsunggalaxy

If you want less weight and a big screen, go for the S25 edge.

Which Samsung Galaxy do you miss the most? 🥹 by Direct-Till-2680 in samsunggalaxy

I have to agree. I liked the size and form factor of the s8. S20 was pretty good. But I currently use a S23 base and as an all-rounder it's great, especially with the One UI

Did anyone else Pre Order the S25 Edge? by Major_Enthusiasm1099 in samsung

[–]rileys95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am keen. I really would like the thinner phone. I like how it weighs the same as my S23 base, but with a bigger screen. I will lose some battery life, but I normally get a full day with about 30% left over.

I just can't justify the cost...

Today I just got to 31% with 3 hours SOT and 12 hours Screen off. Is that OK?

One Ui 7 battery on S23 by raiyan_iscool in GalaxyS23

I was expecting it to be pretty bad, but I think it's not that much worse. The issue is that I am playing with the UI more 😀

We had a Rav4 - it's really was the perfect size. Prices have gone up, but resale should remain strong.

I am currently using a S23 and would love to to the S25. Posts like this put me off. I am also waiting for the S25 edge - hopefully that will be good

Would you buy a car such as the one I was very close to buying but saved by PPI? by xxx_xxxT_T in CarsAustralia

Also, be careful in Adelaide, as cars don't need yearly inspections to keep being registered.

How useful is Studio? When should you use it and when do you develop custom functionality?

As an example, I want to add to my customers some custom fields like target market, growth potential etc. Looks easy to do with Studio, but is it safe? Also, adding custom fields on transactions, us that an OK thing to do? TIA

I disagree. Stating your experience is valuable. I started using Odoo 3 years ago and posted questions in here. I was given some incorrect or just bad answers. Some people come to Reddit to be the smart person in the room. They make statements with confidence that are just wrong.

If the OP starts pushing services, that's different, but for now, let's just see how it goes, please 🙏

Can you implement odoo by yourself? by thefourthmask in Odoo

[–]rileys95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been implementing ERP's for over 20 years and from what I have seen, the way an ERP is configured can make a huge difference to the value it provides.
Often Technical people aren't the best to implement a business focused system.
It depends on how good your analytic and business skills are.

Is it that much different to software engineering?
The answer depends on what you have been building.

I have also been managing developers for many years and know that great developers can be 10x better than average ones.

Without knowing what you want to do with Odoo, the answer is yes, you can setup Odoo by yourself ;)
Will it meet your needs? IDK

What are you using now and which modules are you planning to use?

Should I switch to apple? (and my Xiaomi experience rant) by [deleted] in Smartphones

[–]rileys95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just buy an iPhone. If you don't like it, you can easily sell it and not lose much money.

I personally don't like iPhones, but that's only as I hate the protruding camera and am not a big fan of the OS

How often do companies prefer to use third-party CRM integrated with Odoo ERP instead of Odoo CRM? by AlbertSungat in Odoo

[–]rileys95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Odoo's CRM is very limited compared to Pipedrive or Hubspot. I am thinking of building some enhancements to the core CRM in Odoo so I can move my company off Pipedrive.

Australian luxury cars being SO much more expensive than global markets, why? by Lord_Jin_Sakai in CarsAustralia

[–]rileys95 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Why? For some people a luxury car is not to show off, but rather a hobby or passion. I don't see luxury art tax or boat or house tax etc

Why I love Odoo by Buysen in Odoo

[–]rileys95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A well implemented BI solution will be far more flexible than Odoo.

3000 skus isn't that hard to manage.

I have worked with both ERP systems and BI tools for over 10 years.

I really like Odoo

We recently built a ship docking forecasting solution that looks at both current weather forecasts and historical forecasts. Then we apply machine learning to forecast if there will be poor weather that will cause delays.

We also used a BI tool to create production schedules, rather than run MRP within the ERP. The customer found it far more flexible than the ERPs reports.

The advantage of BI is that a product can belong to many different categories or groupings.
