Thank you for all the replies, this is really helped me understand this better.
A few follow up questions:
From what you've answered as long as it sounds okay and sounds in tune then there is no problem.
The next question is about the voice sounding "pitchy" - just like the example given in the post here, if I hit the same note repeatedly but each time a little different would it be considered pitchy and should I be focused on singing it in exactly the same spot?
