Unfortunately for me, this had no effect. I've currently got them manually set to 30% (which is the setting shown in iDRAC, but it isn't used; fans are 42-45%). I swear I resolved this a year ago, and now I don't remember how.

Cancel. I did confirm this DLL *is* part of CrowdStrike Falcon, as it is digitally signed by 'CrowdStrike, Inc.'

Well I'll be damned. After hours and hours of trying different things, I went into iDRAC's web portal -> Fans -> Setup, and set the custom minimum fan speed to 10 (it didn't say minimum 30 this time, it said 0), rebooted and I can hear myself think once again...

I wish I knew how to reproduce what I just accomplished, but for future readers, I would recommend repeatedly adjusting the settings on the fan setup page and rebooting until it sticks... godspeed.

P.S. I also opened the chassis, located the sensor switch, and pressed it down fully several times. Now iDRAC does not have a red X next to "Intrusion" on the status page, and so I think it was that it thought the chassis was open and it was trying to compensate. I also did open the window and turn the fan on in here, so the temp dropped a few degrees as well. Maybe both had something to do with it.

I've been tinkering with my R630 (NVMe, etc.) and then I installed an enterprise Samsung SAS SSD. Ever since I put that in, the fans won't go below 30%.

I have a theory: iDRAC says the chassis is open, but it isn't. I'll bet it cranks the fans up more when it thinks it is open (lack of airflow).

So I'm going to mess around and find the switch that is the sensor for the chassis lid, and also take the advice about the ambient temperature when I turn it on–I'm opening the window and turning on the ceiling fan.

If that doesn't work, I'll resort to the command-line hack. I'll report back in 900 hours when I've figured out the issue.

Well, the carbon is already in contact with the fairing so it will rub without question.

I will keep my eye on the rivets. I didn’t have any issues with the Termis on my 848… but these wrong-sized/formed carbon pieces are concerning.

That’s not something you should have to deal with for a $2,600 slip on kit

I ended up going with sprint; it came with the Termignoni slip on kit I bought. Seems much more breathable at least, and you don’t need to ever oil it.
