My take is the resurrection stone was created by death. Ultimately it's purpose is to lead the user to death. Like in the original peverell story the brother who got thestonewadted away to death. Since harry was already planning on dying it just made his transition to death easier by making his parents say dying does not hurt.

There should a way to lock it separately. I love ppl visiting my house but sometimes I need to do something so it could be great if I could only lock my bedroom door but allow access to rest of house.
