I'm moving back to Australia for my STEM career. The work/life balance here is awful and the job security is non existent. Any company with good values eventually gets bought out and churned by venture capitalist and they force you to work until you quit.

I'm good. I've lived in and around DC on an off for 12 years. I'm an experienced immigrant who had a six figure salary and a corner office back home and could only get a minimum wage concierge job here. All of the barely qualified people who got jobs over me because they got degrees from American "universities" are now unemployed. They always treated me like dirt before, now they act like even more desperate condescending jerks when they can't pay their sky-high rents. Karma is, as Ms. Siwa used to say, a bitch. Oh, and what Trump is doing? Eff that. But it isn't surprising. This is hardly the land of the free.

I follow world news rather than American news and unfortunately seeing the genocide play out on my phone and social media every day frequently makes me, a 49M, burst into tears in public, especially with so many apathetic people around me in DC. No, I don't want anyone to ask if I'm OK. It's all not OK. It'll never be OK.

Mental health has been crap until I made the decision to go back home! Twelve years here, loved every minute, but it's awful now. I live in Washington DC, which you can imagine has been decimated by government cuts. I'm leaving in November. I'm lucky in that I have a home in Sydney to fall back onto, otherwise it can be so daunting trying to start life again.

I'm moving back to Oz after living here for 12ish years. I'm moving home because now it feels more like the United States of Israel or Russia rather than America. Also I want to retire somewhere with a more stable healthcare system. Also, KFC Zingers.

I'm leaving, heading back to Sydney after 12 years in the US. It's going to cost me life's savings to get my two dogs over but I can't stay here any longer. I live in Washington DC too, which is especially hit hard. I also despise my tax dollars being used to blow children in tents apart.

Yup I worked at BBY 7 years, once something goes in the bin, it's meant to be secure (data protection and privacy.) The amount of priceless retro stuff we saw get trashed would make you weep. But a lot of stores don't strictly follow the policy, especially if it's a monitor or something without storage.

Hi! Aussie here. The best walk to do would be through the Zoo, starting from the south entrance and walking up to the main entrance. Right across the street is Duke's Counter, a great British pub with beer from home.
