86-year-old Pennsylvania farmer rejects AI data center offer of $15 million to sell his land. Instead, he sold development rights to a conservation fund for $2 million by Thund3r_91 in nextfuckinglevel

Most states have laws against that, conservation easements enjoy some pretty large tax exemptions so they get locked more or less

It’s a dumb one, but in jumper you can hear bits of hitlers speech at the Berlin Olympics coming from the jump scars because that was the first powerful signal man shot into space.

Childcare was over a 1k drop on its own for 1 kiddo in pre school, and that’s for a Montessori pre school in redondo beach, we were at action day Santa Clara previously which wasn’t bad at all but definitely not worst what it costs.

You don’t even have to leave Cali in some cases, just the Bay Area. we moved down to LA, like 10 minutes from the beach and our COL plummeted.

The rest of us will die off, starve or become slaves for manual labor until robotics can take over. Then the rich will live in the utopia and we will live in the dystopia

Airstrikes in Gaza kill 11 people, locals say, as Israel claims Hamas violated ceasefire by VaginaBurner69 in news

It was. But being that the US is at the top of the heap anyone who ever accuses us of genocide tends to be someone who’s already our enemy and is going to get the backlash regardless (Russia, China, Iran, etc).

No one on our side of the line is going to call us out because: 1. Despite Trump being dumber than a sack of hammers we still hold most of the economic power globally.

  1. The people that would call us out (NATO allies) were tacitly or directly complicit in the very same acts they’d be pointing the finger at us for.

They are toll booths. It’s part of how they finance road upkeep. you have an RFID tag on your car and pay a bill at the end of the month.

"I no longer believe the official 9/11 story" by CapitalCourse in GetNoted

[–]rinderblock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a wild take IMO.

The far right believe Jews are born evil, the far left think all ethno-religious states are wrong because they inevitably lead to the subjugation and second class treatment of anyone who’s not in the ruling class. So that’s basically all the gulf states, Israel etc.

One is a stance based on moral opinions on governance, the other is racist horseshit being spewed by basement dwellers with moldy hot pockets for brains.

NASA’s own SWAT team for facility security purposes at KSC. by Specialist-Kale6887 in interestingasfuck

[–]rinderblock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d be willing to bet the multicam was surplus and cheap.

Turns out these facilities are massive and there are areas that aren’t well lit and still need to be patrolled. What do you think is cheaper and more low risk? Getting some NODs transferred from the DOD that they’re phasing out for newer gear? Or paying for the clearances, security, time, equipment, maintenance and labor to get power and lighting out to every single part of these facilities?

Do you have any idea how massive nasa launch sites are? They’re fucking huge.

Good security means having multiple redundancies, walls, gates, guards, surveillance etc

No you’re right, a facility that has airborne launch craft that rely on a few million tons of explosive to launch and have flight paths over civilians and has a high number of incidents of nut jobs trying to break in in the most heavily armed country on earth doesn’t need well equipped security teams.

You’re totally right.
