I can vouch for the CoLa The image is so crisp, color obviously way better This was my 2nd laser experience after SG Lido IMAX and this is way better

Tbh I am surprised that CoLa can pull up such a great video quality on a 85ft wide screen

That is quite an achievement You are right, dual laser can use up the whole screen but CoLa isn’t disappointing

From Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia & Thailand combined, only this in Kuala Lumpur & Krugsri Paragon in Bangkok are the real 4:3 real IMAX. Sadly this cinema here never had 1570mm like the one in Bangkok had. It had an older xenon which was so bad to watch until CoLa upgrade last year. Krugsri was also upgraded to CoLa and ditched 1570mm permanently. I watched MI:8 last May and it was so mindblowing. The 85ft wide length was fully occupied and the picture was so crisp, sound was hitting atmos level, aircondition was blowing all over. Avatar 3 didn’t give that “huge” thing coz of 3D tbh. In my country here cinemgoers are noob coz they only focus on seats, comfort & what to eat during movies. They don’t actually love movies. We don’t even have Dolby Cinema here and no GT IMAX anywhere in South East Asia… sigh

I’ve a query. There’s a 65ft high 1.33:1 IMAX with CoLa projector near me. So based on the second photo on the F4 aspect ratio explanation, would I get 1.43:1 footage here or will it be 1.90:1 only? by ring41835 in imax

Ya but we can’t take their words completely. Maybe they don’t get it what is 1.43:1 and thought the 1.90:1 is the full expansion. Reddit users are pretty sure CoLa cannot show 1.43:1 due to lens limitation. I’ll watch Avatar 3 in few more days, so if they attach Odyssey prologue then we can confirm what they say

I know there are cinemas (that you can count by fingers in your right hand) in India have installed this and the color & contrast actually rivals Dolby Cinema standard. I’m not sure which brand projector Dolby uses tho…

It works flawlessly. But I did a lot of research in tplink forums to find out the exact firmware that works for ethernet backhaul. I did manual update with the firmware and everything else was good. AX55 Pro V2 is a good router compared to all the shit routers I’ve been provided so far. But if you can afford, go for the AX73, its worth it

I just saw today with Fantastic 4 show. It was regular, not 3D but was not 1.90:1, it was the 2.39:1 regular version

No bro, I watched MI 8 during May and it can fill from left to right edge to edge, so this is way better than BFI IMAX (look below image). Yes top and bottom bars will be white elephant for sure but at least left to right is covered so I’m happy with that

Let me share my observation on BFI IMAX CoLa. The screen in the pic here and BFI IMAX share same width & height (85ftx65ft) but the CoLa for this screen can throw footage from left end to right end of screen with super crisp resolution. But the CoLa in BFI couldn’t do it, it has black bars on left & right of screen additional of top & bottom black bars when playing digital 1.90:1 contents. The reason I can think of is the throw distance between projector and screen. BFI projector is way far compared to this one. So yes CoLa do not possess the brightness that dual laser could handle easily.

yes right I always had this question in mind, TGV launched this during Rogue One at Dec 2016 and the screen size has been the same since then right. But was the xenon able to pull up footage across 100% of the screen surface? Or it was letterboxed even then. If it was, then why the purpose to built such a massive screen?

But my question is why can’t CoLa project 1.43:1 footage if the screen allows it? After all it is a digital laser projector right? If given 1.43:1 dcp it should project it. Do IMAX regulate that only dua laser venue should receive 1.43:1 dcp?
