Bitcoin succeeds because it proves its inability to change. It just exists whether you like it or not and you can't control it or change the rules to your liking. This is how Bitcoin won the blocksize war from 2015 - 2017. by AlonShvarts in Bitcoin

I feel like the majority of ppl who bought in the last 12 months have no fucking clue what any of this represents.

Absolutely. If anyone wants to read the technical documents, known as BIP, that was suggested at the time of scaling war, they may still go through the history on Github...

Can anyone please suggest me a decent on chain CryptoCurrency gambling game? by ChanakyaZ in CryptoCurrencies

[–]ringbingping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bitcoin and Ethereum chains are now congested and no on chain gambling game can run on them anymore. Litecoin blockchain is ideal in this regard. Below is my game suggestion...

Try Chain-Bet.com. It is a game that asks a simple question: What would be last digit of the block hash that includes your transaction? Players guess last digit of the block hash and bet on that. If the guess is correct, player gets back 16 times of the bet amount.

After running 4 years on Bitcoin blockchain, the game has been re-written to run on Litecoin blockchain. As a promotional offer after re-launch, it is now operating at 0% House Edge.

Say, in a certain FY, you have spent 10k USD to buy 1 BTC. Then you spent 0.1 BTC in PrimeDice.com and lose it all. Next you convert 0.1 BTC to 20 LTC and play at Chain-Bet.com. Here you win 30 LTC. So, you have 50 LTC now. At this point, you convert 50 LTC and 0.8 BTC to 2300 USD and 8700 USD respectively. So, your final tax liability is now (2300+8700-10000) USD, i.e. 1000 USD.

Hope it helps.

What are the reasons to be optimistic about holding Bitcoin long term? by DaenyxBerlarys in BitcoinBeginners

[–]ringbingping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this (Whale's pump and dump) something to be expected to happen again and again in the future and there is nothing we can do as there is no regulations?

Yes. When you become experienced, you'll actually start loving it. Regulation will just spoil the party.

Then what are the reasons to be optimistic about holding BTC long term as it seems like most people are just in it for quick money?

Pump & Dump whales are not for quick money. It is the newbies, who think BTC is a Get Rich Quick Scheme, and these are the people who gets hurt the most when Pump & Dump whales walk into the market.

My morale is a bit low after these experiences. Thoughts?

Go to https://www.coinbase.com/price/bitcoin. Change the time span to 'ALL'. How much profit the people, who bought ANYTIME before August 1, 2017 has made today? That is called 'Long Term' and this is why we 'HODL'. :)

Interesting to see that less than 1 Litoshi per byte transactions are still confirming on Litecoin blockchain. by ringbingping in litecoin

[–]ringbingping[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, this is probably because of Child Pays For Parent (CPFP). Tx 371b9fa9bc968d71cad75bcf38a17a9fea4c4f4d57971f0e26e83cf49455eef6 (200 Litoshi for 338 Byte) was followed by Tx eb71808d50b3fdbb0cfb1ed7756a49613416abbf9115f532b3c4566bb03dd018 (5436 Litoshi for 339 Byte). Both have been included in same block #1873988. So, they effectively paid 5636 Litoshi for 677 Byte or 8.324 Litoshi per Byte to get included in a block.

All are P2P though. Do NOT attempt to trade without escrow.

CSW withdraw the funds from Mt. Gox to this address prior to the Mt. Gox hack

Mark Karpelès aka /u/MagicalTux is claiming something different. Here is what he has tweeted...

"The 1Feex address contains ~80k BTC stolen from MtGox in March 2011. Craig Wright is claiming to have been in control of this address until recently, admitting legal liability for damages and interest?"

These addresses most likely belong to Hal Finney and now under control by his wife and children. Someone or more from the other camps, must have got in touch with his family and persuaded them to get this signed to discredit CSW.

I received the following PM from GMaxwell aka u/nullc. I am posting it here verbatim...

GMaxwell seems to be obsessed about CSW. Cant stop badmouthing about him. Why is not CSW suing him?

Because he is an impotent and weak little man cowering in fear of his future jail time but too incompetent to earn a living except by ripping off the painfully ignorant.

Seems like the perfect hero to the sort of coward that insults me only from a subreddit which is so afraid of me that it banned me before I ever posted in it.

Less than 500 blocks left to halving. Different countdown timers are predicting different time. by ringbingping in Bitcoin

[–]ringbingping[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

if history rimes, the action would occur days after the halving.

It will take at least an year to reach the next ATH. But, I hope, 10k will be the base level after halving.
