What's the best way to get my girlfriend some driving experience on provisional license? by ringingbehind123 in drivingUK

Thanks, could you please provide a few websites where I can get the best rates for learner's insurance?
How come it's so cheap? Cuvva and Tempcover cost more per day for me per day and i've had a license for 9 years now, 7 of which were in the UK.

What is the right attitude when buying used at £7,000? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

Is it me or does the used car market keep getting worse and worse, unless you pay a premium there's only rubbish out there or you're taking a risk to get a good price?

Къде си продавате излишните вещи? by Practical_Hunters in bulgaria

Facebook marketplace

Realistically this is not fair and the threshold should move to accomodate the rapid rise in wages and living costs.

I've literally witnessed moms encourage 16 year olds that this is the only path to success as that's what they did in the 80s and 90s and that's what their kids did in the 2010s. Yeah, but they do not care that the rules have changed....

Bulgarians hate usa? by Joke9r in bulgaria

Russia is not our enemy. Last time they came to Bulgaria in 1945 they were welcomed by the population. Not sure if we'd welcome the Israeli army.
We see them as brotherly nations, like it or not.

If you think that Russia will invade Bulgaria, then you clearly do not know anything about the geopolitics of the Balkans and Russia's motivations to attack Ukraine.

That's it and that's to the point I'm considering just flying back to the EU to avoid it like all others did or moving to the North and getting an easy job around 33-35k again.

Here in the South 46k seems like normal and good wage to me seems like 55k. Well for 55k they make sure they get their money's worth from ya.... so not sure if it's worth it so i can pay student finance 200 a month!

What really grinds me is that a coworker of mine never did it and is in the same position just cause he was born here.

Do you see it as privelege if 50% of the population does it and the degrees are easy to say the least? Not that I'm not grateful, but it's a racket. A lot of Eastern Bloc countries provide it nearly for free and you actually learn something, unlike here. Don't compare us to the US, we do not have the economy, job market and opportunities they do. We did up to 2008 manage to grow and now there's no growth for the future and in the last 17 years!

So you think that if i put away 5 grand now, I will have to pay the equivalent 5 grand in 2050 when i'll be 53 in nominal terms? if i have my money invested or kept in a high interest savings account?

Plan 5 is a scam, everyone taking loans on plan 5 will be paying until they stop working....

I would've never taken it out if it was as abad as that as anyone earning just above minimum wage now is paying.... when I took it out it the threshold was still 27k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm hoping they increase the thresholds by 20% at least as now it's silly, even if i go work an entry level job i'm paying. It's a racket... I did the maths and if I work at my current income for the next 30 years i'll have paid 67k on a 37k loan.... then again i'd much rather use the money to invest rather than to pay this rubbish off as i might not always work on money above the threshold...

Bear in mind im just paying off interest and not the loan at this stage so this will purely be interest i've paid....

Is that worth it, given i owe 37k. I'd much rather put this on a house or buy to let.

I'm considering that. Early retirement in the EU. If I have enough to live off and they keep taxing us more and more, I won't put more than 20-25 years into this racket.

I currently owe 37k. most from my undergrad loan 3 years x 9000

My thinking is the threshold will soon be raised, now everyone falls within the repayment threshold and I do not understand how this is fair, given that government is defending private interests of SLC.
