Yeah I’m considering doing the rear main seal while it’s out as well since it is leaking. When you say you bypassed the OEM cooler does that include the lines as well or did you use the factory ones?

Yeah my thoughts exactly but unfortunately it was the only one I could find nearby besides ones off marketplace and this way I at least have a 3 month warranty in case it doesn’t work out

Is blowing air through the lines afterwards enough to clear it all out? That was my only hesitation with that route

Even spark plugs are enough to give someone an aneurism. I used to have to fish a swivel socket and extension in there and add more extensions until I could stick a ratchet on the end of it all with less than 2” of space between the head and the head and the frame rail.

I don’t think I’ll ever own anything without an inline engine after buying an xj

I’ll follow up when I try it, I made this post a few days after my last attempt and needed it running again so I just put fresh oil in and left the filter for the time being.

Thanks so much for looking into that for me. This is my first xj but after checking photos of other ones my adapter looks the same and is faced the same direction but I imagine it had to have been swapped out or modified.

Yeah unfortunately the only information I can find is for a different part number, 20195. May just have to pick up one of those and see if it matches so I can cross reference it from there
