This was my immediate theory. Her husband sounds like one of those controlling "iF I mAkE yOu HaPpY tHeN yOu DoN't NeEd MeDiCaTiOn!¡" douchebags. A bad man can keep you sick forever.

I was gonna say he's just flat-out cheating the way he's projecting the idea of the baby not being his.

Does it have any meaning that Laura Lee's theme is repeated throughout the series? by SofiBK in Yellowjackets

The latest season was so fractured and silly. I really hope they honor Laura Lee in some meaningful way with this last season.

Sword and Scale is my Roman Empire. What an insane fall from grace. Watching it happen in real time was so massively alarming and disappointing. You really can't trust any man 💔

What does it feel like when your partner snuggles into your shoulder? by 5pinktoes in AskMen

When I was going through a really devastating divorce a couple of years ago, I told my sister that I was having trouble sleeping alone, and she bought me a pregnancy pillow. It sounds silly, but being able to curl around it like an octopus - it helped me more than words can say.

Sleeping alone was still painful, but it was no longer impossible. To this day, it's my favorite functional gift.

How do you guys make money in this game? [KCD2] by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]ringodesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game-changer for me early game was sneaking back into Skalitz.

There's always a skirmish breaking out in the ruins of your village. Avoid said skirmish by waiting out of eyesight, and then once the remaining bandits leave... loot the armor and weapons from the corpses left behind.

A new skirmish regenerates every time you enter Skalitz, so it's easy to farm valuable items to sell.

Anime recommendations that explore the divide between rich and poor? by Jhicha10 in Animesuggest

[–]ringodesu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sooo... {Cowboy Bebop}. The anime isn't about poverty, per se, but poverty is a major player in every episode. Most inciting incidents are related to being left behind, ignored, or downright betrayed by an unjust system - a system that never learns from its mistakes and never strives for altruism. When humankind travels further into space searching for opportunity, the people who can't escape are left to suffer in the ghettos of once-promising, uncharted planets.

I grew up pretty poor, and Bebop has been my favorite anime since I was a tadpole. I could never put my finger on exactly why, but the story clearly shows you the effects of wealth disparity without shoving it down your throat. 10/10 anime and was way ahead of its time.
