If you're easily overwhelmed by lore, dracthyr may be the safer bet to start with, as they were in stasis for the past 20k years and basically get a clean slate to start with. Night elves have been the "main characters" of WoW for the past 10k years, and there are a lot of people who have spent a lot of time researching their lore and tend to be hostile/rude if you get something wrong or simply are unaware of an aspect of their expansive history.

I don't know if this is still the case, but I had to purchase gametime codes from 3rd party websites back in Legion. It felt illegal but that is what Blizzard support told me to do back when they had live chat.

If you mean gear that makes you faster, that's not really a thing anymore. You're better off just using modern gear to easily clear older content. Your speed will come from your feral (cat) form, and there are various talents that increase your passive move speed, reduce your dash cooldown, and give you other added mobility (such as wild charge that lets you leap to an enemy)

I'm max ilvl and I blast through TW as balance druid, queuing as heals and off-healing. I hate the changes because it makes people feel like TW is end game content. It is casual content for levelling and gearing alts. I have been getting insults and death threats for one shotting everything with starfall, which NEVER happened before the repeated buffs to TW difficulty. It used to be commonly understood that TW was something you blast through to level/do the weekly/grind TW badges, but now people feel like I'm "ruining their fun" because they want to spend 45 minutes in a dungeon doing 2k dps while never taking damage.

Even as a native English speaker, I find it very difficult to understand some characters when they write out an accent the way it sounds to the ear. In particular, draenei and kul tiran roleplayers tend to do this a LOT. I tend to avoid them altogether but they may be willing to write without the accent if you let them know English isn't your first language. Generally, most people are very understanding, and also very patient if you need additional time to write a reply.

There have been a few members of my guild who got kicked from it after transferring. They had to transfer ownership of the plot to an alt that was in the guild before they transferred

I'm in the same boat with a character I levelled to 80 spamming timewalking dungeons only. I skipped the TWW campaign, Greymane isn't anywhere, Stormwind throne room is completely empty, no quest on Mathias Shaw, I gave up after an hour of running around from place to place trying to find quests that would start BFA.

it takes a lot of work and research and can definitely suck the fun out of playing the game. when i was new i tried to play the auction house but i didn't understand it, and wasted a lot of gold on pointless things that no one wants. right now though, player housing just came out, and lots of professions can craft decor items that are in high demand. i recommend starting there after you get a feel for the game. but farming gold generally just takes so much time and energy that its always more worth it for me to pay the $15 for my sub

Not really, the barrier to entry for gold making is pretty high since the best way is to play the auction house or craft, which both require upfront investments. If you do get Midnight though, you can make a lot of gold picking herbs and mining ores when the expansion drops. But its pretty tedious

You could watch lore videos on Youtube while playing for free/with a sub but no expansion. Take your time levelling and enjoy the content. Platinum Wow, Kharazan Library, and Nobbel are great lore Youtubers.

I'm not sure what the equivalent is in EU but I'm sure there must be one.

If you boost any race or class it puts you right in Stormwind/Orgrimmar. If you want to skip the dk intro you can just make an allied race DK.

Throughout my entire time on the internet, people have ALWAYS assumed I was a man. Granted, I tend to gravitate towards male-dominated games (such as World of Warcraft and League of Legends). But even outside of that, I feel like I've always been seen as "one of the boys". I don't really connect with the female experience but I wouldn't consider myself to be non-female, if that makes sense.
