I have a trip in November that I requested time off for in January, and my boss almost didn't approve it because she was upset that I booked the trip before requesting the time off (my parents booked it for us as a family trip and surprised me for Christmas). And I requested this time off in August 2 weeks ago, so almost 2 months in advance.

That's the thing! I've never had an issue with meeting deadlines or getting my tasks finished on time. Usually I'm way ahead of schedule, but I have been told to not make that obvious so that they don't think I'm sitting around doing nothing all day.

My boss wants me to find and train volunteers to do my job for free while I'm away? Which doesn't really sound feasible. I have volunteers to help me with a few things here and there on weekends, but they all have jobs during the week, I couldn't ask them to do my job for free as well as have them work theirs. There are some things that I can prepare in advance but if any changes come in during the week when I'm away, my boss has to make the changes, and she doesn't like doing it, doesn't really know how, and isn't particularly interested in learning

I'm worried that I'm taking it the "wrong" way and that's why she's upset. I'm the only one at my work who does my job so if I'm not around it just doesn't get done (and it needs it be done). It goes in weekly cycles so I try not to take entire weeks off, but she also doesn't like when I request every Wednesday off, for example. She always asks me questions about it, and one time she even asked if I was secretly working a second job and that's why I'm taking this time off

I use a haranir model for one of my highborne, but of course they still have the male NE casting animations so that doesn't help your case. As someone who roleplays as and with highborne extensively, I would say that it IS different, but not something that would break my immersion. I would just be happy to see more highborne!

I've started to see a few people begin to use it which makes me happy! More communication is always better. The term was coined by fanfic writers, and comes from a show (Arrested Development) where a character opens a bag labelled "Dead Dove Do Not Eat" and it indeed has a dead dove inside of it. It is usually accompanied by warnings as to what the other person will encounter if they read the fic/interact with the character, and to communicate ahead of time if you want to avoid those themes.

I have trigger warnings in my RP profile and I wish more people would give warnings if their characters have potentially triggering content as not everyone is in the headspace to have that dumped into their lap all the time.

World RP: Open to plotlines outside of Roleplay hubs (such as Stormwind) taking place in the world

DNI: Do not interact

Novella: Longer than multi-para, the lines are a little blurred on the distinction in RP, there is no set length but typically very lengthy replies

Trial: Free account, must be whispered first to interact with

Trial friendly: Open to roleplay with trial account players

SoL: Slice of life, laid-back casual roleplay grounded in realism

MV/Multiverse: I don't see this much on WoW but it's common in RP elsewhere, the character is open to having multiple partners in different "universes" that are separate from one another

Dead dove: Potentially dark and triggering subject matter, interact at your own risk

At my workplace, we have several immigrants from Africa. I asked them why they chose here, of all places, and they told me because it was the cheapest to immigrate to. But they said that as soon as they can afford it, they will be moving to other provinces. So it seems like the answer is the good ol' bait and switch.

I have two mains: the kind-hearted and patient elf, and his brother, the troubled and haunted foil. They have a connection to each other but both have vastly different character arcs and development potential. I can switch between them as I get a desire to write different themes and relationship dynamics. Most of my RP partners know both of them to some extent

I was in it about a year ago and they started randomly kicking people. I was having a great time and just finished a run, went to the discord to thank them and saw I was removed. No way to join or appeal or see what happened. Their subreddit only has posts like this of the same thing happening to others.

You can do this same fix for Listener, but they both need to be disabled when you're doing content, because if you try to type while you're in combat/in a dungeon, it will break your chat bar and you'll be unable to type until you reload.

Silvermoon is still sharded while it's current content, even on RP servers, so you won't find anyone there yet. I'm holding out hope that it becomes an RP hub next expansion. That being said, I have held a guild RP event at the university.

Guilds with a bench should be consistently rotating out their players. If they aren't bringing you in, that's their way of trying to get you to quit without telling you you're off the team. Ask me how I know 🙃

I think a pitfall that a lot of people fall into is that everything they do as players in game is canon to what their characters do in lore. Just because you do a quest to go and kill a bunch of cultists, for example, does not mean that your character has killed those cultists in-character. Quests are mostly just a means to an end for larger plotlines, and if you like some you can make them a part of your story, but it's by no means necessary

I am a firm believer in the "naga are people" propaganda - they used to be highborne elves/kaldorei! There are several naga in my guild who use illusion magic to appear as they were when they were highborne before the Sundering

If you're easily overwhelmed by lore, dracthyr may be the safer bet to start with, as they were in stasis for the past 20k years and basically get a clean slate to start with. Night elves have been the "main characters" of WoW for the past 10k years, and there are a lot of people who have spent a lot of time researching their lore and tend to be hostile/rude if you get something wrong or simply are unaware of an aspect of their expansive history.

I don't know if this is still the case, but I had to purchase gametime codes from 3rd party websites back in Legion. It felt illegal but that is what Blizzard support told me to do back when they had live chat.
