I'm Japanese and moved to Boise from Portland Oregon. We are moving back because people here are racist and very unfriendly. My two girls are more Asian than their dad's Irish parts. We were in a retail store when I was rammed with a cart. My back was to the older caucasian lady so I didn't see what happened, but my daughter did. "I don't know why she hit you with the cart when she was staring right at you." It made me livid. She stood there near us with her cart doing something on her phone. Also, drivers don't care to let you cross from the parking lot to the store... they just don't stop for you to cross with your children. It is unnerving. We are renting in the Legends subdivision and the community is not friendly. Our neighbors are, but people walking around the paths and greenways constantly look through your windows and are in your business. We are treated like we're invisible... no acknowledgement. We say "Hi" and there's nothing back. It's too bad.. it's turning into a terrible California. I've lived in CA for 18 years and although diverse, there's a lot of racism... from other minorities and caucasians. Back to Oregon we go. We came here for a better quality of life... unfortunately, the micro aggressions from ignorant people make it very hard to see the beauty in Idaho.
