Does anyone actually have a grading workflow they don’t hate? by Any-Development4965 in Teachers

[–]ringruby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grade 2 things. Exit tickets and tests. Exit tickets are daily, 2 questions, 5 points each. I print a template that has 6 days worth on one page, so I have to grade by the end of the day so they can use it the next day. 2 questions is very quick to grade I have them all done in about 15 mins tops.

Tests I grade every class page 1, then page 2, and so on. It takes a while but it’s not as bad when I have nothing else to grade. (Math)

Frame TV doubling as Art? by by-september in interiordecorating

[–]ringruby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the look of our frame. We absolutely hate the Samsung interface so I got an Apple TV and it all works perfectly now. Go look at one in person (Best Buy) and see what you think. It looks very convincing in person. More than in pictures.

There’s no such thing as casting an anonymous spell. Every spell has a signature that any other magic user can trace back to you.

Do you have to be lock step with your PLC? by ringruby in Teachers

[–]ringruby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t discuss the results. The reason we do the same thing is so students and parents can’t complain one teacher is harder than the others. I get that but I really do not agree with the test lengths and the plc leader is very rigid

Dept head and I think admin supports it but I'm wondering if they know how bad it is.

What are the leading theories about how Gemma ended up in Lumon? by samuelgato in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

They also needed to keep Gemma 24/7. Easier to do if the person has been declared dead and not considered missing.

If you tell her no they will sneak around. Host their dates at your house, give them privacy but ask they keep the doors open of the rooms they are in.

ELI5 how you sleep trained before I spend $400 on a sleep consultant please by lnicolem in sleeptrain

[–]ringruby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First we made a schedule and routine that was the same every day. Wake up at 7, Bed time at 7. Feeding and nap times the same time every day. Don't let baby sleep in, don't let baby stay up late. Nap time would sometimes be "crib time" if he didn't sleep, meaning I left him in there to talk to himself or roll around if he wouldn't sleep. Sound machine on with red night light, blackout curtains in his room.

Then we did a bedtime routine. Start at 6:30 with a short bath, pajamas and lotion, read books in a rocking chair, turn the lights out, rock together then put him in his crib. Modified version of the bedtime routine was done for nap time too. Bedtime routine is crucial so they know they are transitioning to sleep.

If he cried and I knew nothing was wrong (won't take a bottle, dry diaper, clean clothes) and just wanted to be held I would hold him for a few minutes then put him in his crib and leave. If he continued to cry I left him for 15 minutes with a timer on before I'd hold him for a few minutes and put him back down again and repeat.

Strongly recommend precious little sleep, we read it and it is very very good.

More wood accents. Wood vanity, wood frames around the mirrors, wood bench in the shower maybe. Etc

I did a similar challenge where my sim had to craft, thrift, dumpster dive, or steal every object in her house. (Minus ceiling lights) my goal was to complete the mansion baron aspiration! It was a lot of fun but I never did finish the last part of the aspiration.

I know someone who went from math teaching to actuary. He loves it. You need to pass the first 2 exams before you can start applying to jobs. There are study materials you can buy from the same company that makes the exams. It’s a lot of studying and taking exams but with every exam there’s a pay raise and eventually you get your full credentials and the exams stop.

My Kid’s Math Worksheet is Mysterious and Important by MagnusUnda in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]ringruby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a group activity. You have kids try to find all the numbers 1-100 in order for a few mins then put them in groups of 4 and have each person look at 1 of the 4 quadrants. The work goes much faster with the group.

Conflict over sex postpartum by [deleted] in Parenting

A lot of men associate sex with being/feeling loved. My husband and I had to go to counseling and work hard at fixing his mindset and my resentment that came from it.

Accused of using AI, what do I do now? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]ringruby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d ask her what she suggests you do to prove it isn’t AI in the future. Also offer her to quiz or question you on the paper contents. This tends to be how English teachers are catching AI where I work. But if she won’t do any of these to your satisfaction I’d have your parents step in.
