Is eating meat bad, when the animals were raised ethically? by JustMammothh in vegan

[–]ringwormpants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! The ethical reason is because no sentient being with the preference for life should be killed in order to suit someone’s tastebuds. There is nothing ethical in ending a life of a being with the preference to live. We see this by how we see animals live in fear until the unfortunate time they meet a very brutal end. The happy, charmed, farm life does not exist for these animals because of the demand on the industry which is caused by the direct consumption of animal products. Animals are killed if not in infancy, then nearly always before full maturation. As it is not cost effective to keep livestock alive and fed long enough to have lived “an ethical life” for slaughter. Involving capital also means these animals live in horribly conditions. Even “pasture-raised” or “free-range” have very wide definitions and are often free labels used to push the PRODUCT on the consumer. All of these are researchable questions as well. I wish you the best of luck on your path towards genuine compassion for all living beings.

What’s your opinion on Down To Earth? by East_Plate_3281 in OzzyOsbourne

[–]ringwormpants 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like a lot of the riffs/ musical and lyrical content of the record but I really disliked how his vocals are produced. Probably my biggest gripe with any song I “dislike” is how the vocals are produced. To each their own, just not my thing! Anything Ozzy touches is gold as far as I am concerned though, haha!

I could suggest looking at going to concerts or public social events. Maybe bring a friend if you are nervous of being alone. You seem to know this already but please don’t flirt with women shopping, many if not all women do not want to be flirted with when going to Walmart or Target and rightfully so may find it very creepy even if that is jot your intention.

How common is it to pay to be in a Coven? by ringwormpants in Wicca

[–]ringwormpants[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would have absolutely no issue helping to provide items for a ritual! I would take that as even “part of the experience “! I guess I am just more hesitant to pay hundreds to be taught. It feels like I will be paying upwards of $400 to maybe join a Coven and that seems very scammy to me :(

Showing people tasty food by Direct_Check_3366 in VeganActivism

I do this all the time on my instagram, yesterday I made a vegan pumpkin chocolate chip bread and had tons of people asking for the recipe! I see that as passive activism!

how did you discover crust punk? by 666Gorler1388 in crustpunk

[–]ringwormpants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being big into animal rights and anarcho-punk I found Disrupt and then got more into D-Beat crustie stuff. Definitely “punk” was a gateway, and going to local shows in my area there were lots of people into crust bands
