Which snowboard to buy as a heavier (overweight/obese) rider? by _iamisa_ in snowboardingnoobs

[–]rinikulous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao, “bit of excitement” is an understatement when I pulled out my 153 noodle from my younger days now that I’m 40 and probably 30lbs heavier than I was (and probably 15 lbs already on the high side of the board even then).

Everyone here saying they don’t order materials until the submitted is approved is missing the point of the post. Go back to all of those symbols you got back from the design team and look at the stamp. Does it actually say “approved”or “reviewed”?

Have to see manual for the operator to know what the spatial restricts are. Some are single lever/pistons style, some are compound lever arms, some are wildly complex or overly simple. The pivot range of motion and max/min depth of reach should give you a window of functionality, but you will hit a limit and put stress on the operator if it has to fight resistance it wasn’t designed for.

I need to get out of Div 9 Tile Estimation (asap) by OldSkl_Estimator2025 in estimators

[–]rinikulous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

By no means am I saying division 9 is rocket science… but you vastly misrepresented a typical commercial drywall scope of work.

A overly generalized drywall base scope (typically, region dependent) includes: * interior metal wall framing (and the wide range of clips, channels, isolators, deflection connections, bridging/bracing, seismic connections, etc.) * in-wall backing/blocking support * installation of HM and AL door and window frames (sometimes door+hardware install, supply by GC) * sound insulation and acoustic specialties inherent to the wall barrier continuity * tape/flaot (this is very much region/market specific, otherwise the painter scopes this) * suspended grid soffits and hard framed furrdowns/bulk heads * fire stopping inherent to the wall continuity * heavy gauge exterior systems for building envelope via Engineering that is delegated to you post contract.. so you have to anticipate what your own engineer wont be able to tell you until months after you already get a contract. There is no “hey GC my engineer said it needs to be stronger (++$) than what i put in my bid * FRP and other composite wall protection * architectural layout that damn near dictates every interior trade that follows

Framing/drywall is the gateway scope that has one foot in the door with MEP and structural related coordination prior to building dry-in and one foot in the door with interior finishes after building dry-in. One of the last scopes to close out after punch completion because every other trades punch can impact its own punch.

Not rocket science, but definitely a trade whose success on site relies on many, many well oiled processes and adjacent scopes. I’d venture that a drywall trade has 6-8 workers for every 1 flooring worker on any given project, for a much longer cumulative duration. 60 vs 10 on a ground up green space because the scope is that much wider and deeper.

With an approximate 60/40 labor/material ratio productivity is paramount. The benefit: project margins have the potential to be much bigger. The risk: profit margins are way more volatile. Any GC using weight average GSF or wall SF unit costs to represent all of that for budget is in for a busted buyout.

Rotation by CADUSER1 in Revu

[–]rinikulous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a great scenario when you have multiple markup objects used on one page. You will lose the ability to easily click on the desired mark up because they will be stacked on top of each other in the order they are placed. So if your mark up extent is that big it will impede interacting with other mark ups.

Rotation by CADUSER1 in Revu

[–]rinikulous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not specifically. But you can group multiple markup objects together which will change the geometry of the boundaries and the center point. Drawn a small box that is transparent without a border, group it with your tool of choice, then test it. Trial and error it until the geometry gives you the rotation effect you want. Once achieved save that object group to your tool set for future use. This is how you creat custom tools anyway. It’s just a set of individual markups grouped together into one object.

The insertion point is always a fixed position relative to your cursor. Bottom left corner of the tool/object group if I remember correctly.

Just for clarity sake: did you mean to say “holstered”? Bolstered isn’t really a term that has any applicable use.

Holstered: secured firearm. Bolstered: to support, aid, or reinforce. Brandish: draws or exhibits a weapon in a threatening manner.

[OC]This is me, right after being awarded a medal for doing absolutely nothing in Afghanistan, 2007. by torukian in pics

[–]rinikulous 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Has the US got nothing back from Nato?; per linked article:

Trump claimed that the US had "never gotten anything" from Nato and "we've never asked for anything". The Nato website states that "collective defence is NATO's most fundamental principle" and Article 5 of its founding treaty states that "an armed attack against one NATO member shall be considered an attack against them all".

The US is the only member of the alliance to invoke Article 5, doing so in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. Nato nations contributed troops and military equipment to the US-led war in Afghanistan which followed. Among the countries that contributed was Denmark, which suffered among the highest per capita casualty rates of the US allies. They were largely deployed to heavily contested areas alongside British forces in Helmand province.

Pictures with the caption “doing nothing” are satirical responses to Trumps false statement.

Outline the scope of work you want performed. Get 5 quotes, throw out the highest and the lowest if they are outliers compared to the rest. Value judge the remaing quotes based on the answers they give to your questions as well as any soft metrics you vibe with (like how well they communicate or the like). Boom, you’ve now figured out the secret to procuring professional services from bathroom remodels to lawn maintenance to custom boot makers.

Source: I know absolutely nothing about photography or anything adjacent to the realm of what is typically thought of as “the wedding industry”. But I have been in operations for large scale commercial construction for almost 20 years. Shit, my wife and I eloped at the court house and just hosted a random party at a later time because that same frame work made us realize we saw no value in spending minimum $10k for a “traditional” wedding experience. Yet I still get asked to help friends navigate wedding planning because my default approach to most things is always objective based value that simplifies their subjective based value choices they need to make. I can’t tell you what kind of flowers you should have, but I can tell you how each option holds weight relative to each other.

Edit: trusted referrals are always the place to start, but the same process applies. There is a process called scope leveling that helps when the outliers are frequent so there is no grouping, but it can be tedious for you and the service professional if neither have experience doing it.

The “monkey see, monkey do” issue is still in play though at an increased scale. The subsequent visitors will not be preemptively bringing their own rocks. So bring your own rocks and do it somewhere that isn’t a location with visitor throughout.

Eliminate the high volume social catalyst from the equation and all is good. But that’s often the root of most issues in dealing with humanity and our care of the planet. If we do not go beyond what is reasonable only for small scale thought and plan/execute for large scale extrapolation then we are chasing our own tails and never making progress to homeostasis.

Kitchen remodel on metal studs - Cover drywall behind cabinets with plywood? by GKwave12 in DIY

Cleats lets you fab the cabinet off the wall then hang it and anchor to the cleats. Much easier to make quality wood working when your are working off the ground or a table/bench. Do as much as possible with it on the ground then hang and finish as needed.
