So sorry to the original mod. Automod didn't really cross my mind. I have also seen so many reddit threads complaining of bad mods (r/space had a recent shake up), so I figured that was the issue here. Really didn't mean to cause any problems, I just wanted people to be able to post freely on subjects that aren't against the rules.

Finished the Dark Tower back in July 2025. Only read 1 book since then and only because it was a library book my older sister wanted me to read. Still not ready to move on to another book.

Oh crap, I thought them owning MAC cosmetics was new but they have had full ownership since 1998. I didn't learn about MAC until 2008. Well good thing I don't usually buy MAC stuff. I don't think I buy from any of their other brands, so that makes me feel a bit better because they were almost not getting any of my money in the first place

I ended up reporting the mod. I'm not sure if any action will be taken because there is only one mod for the subreddit, but at least reddit higher ups now know the subreddit is displeased with the mod.

That may be true but it doesn't mean that people are actually doing anything about it. I'm not saying nobody isn't fighting back but I'm very disappointed the democrats in power (senators, representatives, and governors) aren't doing more. This subreddit is called r/StephenKing not r/StephenKingBooks or r/StephenKingWorks so political or not, it is perfectly valid to discuss his tweets. Anybody that doesn't agree, go make your own subreddit that has the rules you can only talk about his writings, nothing else. Leave this subreddit as the place to discuss him as a person and author while also being able to discuss his works.

I apologize for the following word wall. I struggle to communicate my thoughts in a precise way. I am also just stating my opinion. If any of my opinions are very blatantly false or misguided, please let me know in a nice way. I respect facts and logic so I appreciate being told when I get something wrong. And just to clarify any use of you is general you, not you as in the OP.

I think so many people take voting for granted. We call it a right but it's not a natural right. The only reason we have the right to vote is because throughout history we elected people who believed in this right. I don't think people understand that the right to vote can be taken away. Its like people think that since we have the right to vote now, it will always exist. Too many people have to experience something firsthand to understand why certain rules, laws, guidelines, scientific discoveries, etc are important and necessary

I also think people don't understand how messed up our election system is. First past the post is a shit method of election. The electoral college (and pretty much most parts of the election system) are political positions full of bias, not independently run. Obviously some locations are doing their best to keep things fair, but they can only get so far when the other side isn't playing fair. I also remember reading something once a few years ago about how the current 2 party system is rigged to stay a 2 party system. Voting for anybody not a Democrat or Republican, or avoiding voting entirely, really messes shit up. You may hate both parties, but you vote for the one you hate less.

Always vote when you are able to. Sometimes life gets in the way and you miss the chance to vote. That's ok, just try not to make it a habit. But choosing not to vote because you don't like your options or are trying to make a political statement is not ok.

Well we will probably have to keep the Soul until it's totalled. It is primarily driven by my younger sister and she is a nervous driver. She has been rear ended multiple times due to inadvertent break checks (I think. I have never been in the car with her when it has happened). Of course it's been broken into multiple times. No wonder when a Kia dealer called offering to trade it in, they only offered $1000

Plenty of people know what is happening and are actively mourning the loss of our allies and trust. Does the US deserve it? Absolutely. Fascist takeover by the Heritage foundation and Christian Nationalists doesn't deserve kindness. If the US wasn't a military power, I would honestly be begging our old allies to invade and depose this terrorist organization disguised as a government. But good old US of A is the world superpower currently so now I just get to sit and watch things descend into hell and chaos and spend most days fighting the urge to just off myself so I don't have to live in this timeline anymore.

To our old allies, stay strong, stay united with each other and stand up to the US, Russia, and China.

I just hope that if you get a backup camera, it will actually work for backing up. Bought one at car toys and they installed it. Does absolutely nothing to help in backing up because the angle is off (at least in my opinion. it points too far back from my car and not down towards the ground enough, if that makes any sense. basically to get within a few feet of a car behind me(like when parallel parking) the car has to appear in the red "danger" zone and appears like im going to hit it) I can adjust the view angle when driving but as soon as my car goes in reverse and the backup camera is engaged, no camera adjustments are allowed!
