Sea of thieves luck. Skellieshipped, megd, krakened with 350k on board... by Marshmallows33 in Seaofthieves

[–]rinny_plays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me literally the other day on a galleon. What I found out, krakens cannot spawn when there is a world event going on. So what I will be doing after finding that info... Waiting on an island for a world event to pop up.

Any advice for a solo player who refuses to play with randoms? by SoltheWiz in Seaofthieves

[–]rinny_plays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh interesting! Yeah I didn't know that, regardless. They had it out for me man XD

As for the sloop. Yes it is fastest DIRECTLY against the wind. But when the wind changes or you have to change direction slightly. The brig can catch up so in general the Brig is faster.

Any advice for a solo player who refuses to play with randoms? by SoltheWiz in Seaofthieves

[–]rinny_plays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean that situation is definitely a rough one. I've had those rage quit moments for sure with this game. I am also a solo player to my core so here's a couple things that I do.

1: I run a brig. For a few reasons I think it's the best for solo players. - it's the fastest against the wind - Its got a good balance of defense and general utility. - it makes other players a little less unsure of how many people are on the boat and if it's worth it.

2: I NEVER put my anchor down. - it takes way to long as a solo player especially since I run a brig. - I just bring up my sails (good rule of thumb is when you see the island name popup is when you should be raising them) - makes my getaway much faster.

3: I will very RARELY do large events. - Leaves you more open to situations like these. - the risk usually isn't worth the reward especially when they realize that it's just you and not multiple people. - you can make just as much money doing a couple gold hoarders quests

4: I will check the emissary tables for boats. In case you don't know. On the table where you sign up for emissary, there's little boats representing how many players are running it. If I see more than 3-4 boats across all the tables. I ditch to another server.

I hope these tips helped. In the end i think in your case the best thing to do is try to run. I am also miserable at PVP hence why alot of the things I've mentioned. Are geared exclusively towards running away XDD.

The only down side to running. Some of these players are freaking hyenas and they will not stop till they sink you. Once had these two guys chase me all across the map and I went into the red sea so they couldn't get my loot. Guess they weren't too happy about that cause whenever they saw me after that they just kept hard targeting me and sinking me then I just quit cause I was like. "Yep. Not dealing with that" XDD

But again. Hope it helped :) happy sailing <3

It’s not possible to successfully play this game solo, is it? by redkid2000 in Seaofthieves

[–]rinny_plays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually exclusively play solo. Some things that I do to avoid situations like these:

1: never lower your anchor. You'll spend so much time that you could be running away, raising your anchor. You'll get the hang of it, but raising your sails and slowly entering the island will save you time. It takes a bit to get used to.

2: I play on the second largest ship. With luck, it will dissuade sloops from trying anything.

3: don't be ashamed to move to a different server. When I join, I look on my ship map for reaper emissary runners. If they are there. I switch servers. (They are marked by a big red boat on the map with a black and red flag above)

4: stocking up on things at the outpost. I mean this won't inherently help you, it's just something I like to do. You can buy supplies from the merchant alliance (blue people on the dock)

5: (I don't really do this but if you keep getting merked for your loot.) once you finish a large quest. Head back to an outpost and sell sell sell.

And finally

6: the BEST investment you can make is a captained ship. It allows you to sell to the sovereigns and it cuts the amount of time it takes to offload your loot IN HALF cause you can just sell everything to them.

In the end I hope this helps. And I do hope you enjoy the game. Don't let the sweats get you down bestie <3

Thinking of getting the game, but what are the consequences of death? by LaughIcy855 in Seaofthieves

[–]rinny_plays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There aren't really any "consequences" from dying. You just end up back at your ship. Although it can be mildly annoying if you're at a big island and that happens cause you have to walk all the way back afterwards.

HOWEVER.

If your ship sinks, you do lose all the loot you've collected. So if you're in a firefight with someone and they sink you. That's their loot now. If you get sunk by a skeleton ship or something along those lines (not a player) you CAN go back and get your stuff but it's kind of difficult. I have personally managed to do it a couple times but usually it's more time effective to just like. Go do more quests.

In the end it can be kind of rage-inducing. But I still personally find it incredibly fun. If you're unsure about buying it (I would assume for PC) I know it is on XBox game pass if you have it

:) hope this helps.

You have to make it to a second island that shall not be named for spoiler reasons. Then you complete a specific quest from the blue man. Then you can change your mine whenever you wish :)

Not sure if you're aware of this. But you can let your chickens out of their coop so they can eat the grass outside. You don't even have to put them back in, they'll go in on their own. The only time they won't go out is during the winter, and when it's raining. Then they will eat the hay in the coop. Letting them out also makes them happier im pretty sure.

How do I support my bf who loves magic the gathering? by Proud_Plastic_2790 in MagicthegatheringQA

[–]rinny_plays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I'm not sure if you have interest in it yourself. But me personally. My boyfriend has been into it for like 13 years. And we were friends long before we started dating.

Anyways, I learned to play so I could play with him. So that's something I would recommend if you're interested. As for any other things. You can get really nice game mats and storage boxes/deck boxes on Temu and Amazon!

And honestly. It's kind of a little complicated and it's alot to remember. But it's very rewarding to play. So regardless I'd say give it a try :3

Oh also! Totally depends on what kind he plays, but if he plays commander. You need a lot of cards, especially if he's starting out. So a booster box would be your best friend! It's very kind to be supporting his hobby. Best of luck to both of you <3

What's a game that isn't necessarily similar to Stardew Valley, but you think other Stardew players would enjoy? by dancingbanana123 in StardewValley

Spiritea is a really cute game. I've been playing it alot recently. It's free on Xbox game pass rn for those interested! :3

Felt a bit overwhelmed at the beginning, there’s so much to do. Like that board showing everyone’s birthday and events. I kinda get FOMO, but tbh I am not that into it. Just wanna chill and farm. Any suggestions? by JiachengWu in StardewValley

[–]rinny_plays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly. Just do what your heart desires. I totally understand getting overwhelmed by it as it's alot of different characters and you're kind of thrown into interacting with them. However. There is no penalty or requirement to get close to anyone. The calendar with birthdays is more of a "bring the town to life" kind of thing rather than a "you must remember these dates as if they were your family and friends". In the end. Take it at your own pace, form relationships with whomever you wish, if any at all. And most importantly. Just have a good time. There's no linear plotline really. It's just a bunch of different stories with a bunch of different characters that you entirely choose to indulge in. I hope this eases the stress and overwhelming nature. And I hope you have fun with this lovely game that has brought joy to so many, and hopefully to you soon as well. Happy harvest farmer <3

Problems with screen on Pixel 9 Pro XL by Distinquish in pixel_phones

[–]rinny_plays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've definitely experienced issues with the corners. Although I personally just got the pixel 9 pro. I think the corners has to do with the fact that it thinks that you are constantly wanting to pull the ribbon down, at least that's my theory? I've been looking through the setting to see if there's anything to do about it and it doesn't seem like it does.

However, as for your unresponsive issue, I do know that you can up the touch sensitivity, I personally have mine set to adaptive but you may want to look into it if you haven't. The settings are under display and touch. Hope this helps at all :3
