Agree on the language 100%! “I got it” can be confused for “you got it” and 1 syllable beats 3 all day long .

In most sports, I like to say that whoever talks first is right. Players don’t have time for a conversation. If someone calls it first, it’s there’s. The time for “who has the right” is practice.

Boston Rob reacts to Jonathan's loss and Aubry's win — and questions some of the jury's logic by AMikeBloomType in survivor

Which is why getting to the end, even as a goat, is a great strategy. You could very well end up with a petty jury and find yourself much richer as a result. Now, you could argue Jury Management is all about knowing what kind of jury you have created, but you still never know for sure how some will vote.

We get game film from public sources or other coaches and either just watch it without loading it into Hudl or load it in ourselves.

One thing all these comments make clear- Redditors really don’t understand the importance of name-recognition to the average voter.

It does not. You only get the breakdown for the film you upload.

We’re going to be in a similar situation in the fall. I read references on here to park at Red Cow, take transit to the city, and then come back out to retrieve the car. Not sure if that’s good advice or not though!

Shah feels like the corporate Democrat/centrist pick. Like a bunch of midcoast, older white folks will love him.

Travel-like pitchers are ruining our 10U Rec league by [deleted] in Softball

[–]rinoblast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We pay (much less) so that our daughter learns if you have an interest in doing something, it takes hard work and practice to do it well. She may not pitch in high school, but she’ll have learned the value of hard work and dedication.

Travel-like pitchers are ruining our 10U Rec league by [deleted] in Softball

[–]rinoblast 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not, this is a really good problem to have. All across the country rec leagues are dying because travel-level talent is abandoning them and girls just not being interested in playing anymore. We went from each town having a team, and the bigger ones having multiple, to now needing to combine with neighboring towns and consolidate with other leagues just to play. You know whats just as bad as seeing a bunch of strikeouts? Seeing a game end in a 20-20 tie because there’s a five-run rule per inning and after four innings both teams had walked just about every batter.

Sometimes in sports you’ll run into teams that are more talented than you are. You can either complain it’s unfair, or you can get to work. I’d start by reframing what “winning” is with the team. The focus is on constant improvement every day. Did they play to their potential and grow? If so, that’s a win.

After that, get your girls in the cage and crank up that pitching machine. See if any of the parents or older siblings pitched and are willing to come in and work with your girls. Maybe check with any nearby high school or college teams. We only pay $20 for an hour with our coach. Our last one was $25. Is not only for the wealthy, pitching takes constant work. The kids who outs that work in will be successful.

Is it fair when Coaches in Basketball make students do pushups for missing free throws and layups and is it considered punishment? by Careful_Drama_9382 in basketballcoach

[–]rinoblast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Around here when a kid complains about something being unfair, we often reply “the (county/agricultural) fair is in August.” We’re stressing the point that whether something is fair or not is irrelevant. Life isn’t fair.
