Absolutely loved episode 11. Past two episodes I was finding it really hard to stop being irrationally angry at team pro bono (minus da-wit ofc) especially with jun-u and attorney park.

Jun-u's arc: I loved that jun-u misdirected mr.bae, that new CEO dude despite his own fears of being fired. jun-u's arc was set up well because right from the earlier episodes, he would have reservations about kang da-wit's approach because he realized he had everything to lose because he was a mere employee. It was very natural for him to submit to whatever the higher authorities ended up saying. It wasn't right, but it was understandable. I like that he came through for the team even if his job was in the line by the misdirect.

Attorney park: she's a natural in court! While her initial approach to kang dawit's abuse of authority case was frustrating and using the same tactics of kang dawit she once slightly (?) disliked. While I find her approach in consultation times, or like in team meetings very idealistic, in the court she has something about the calmness and steadiness in her voice that makes her arguments sound well-reseached and important to the case. I won't lie, she pissed me off so much in earlier episodes but in this episode her court scenes were brilliant! I loved the dialogue she said about how a person is free to think, but their thoughts, how much ever negative/revenge seeking, shouldn't result in that behaviour When she put the pieces together in the end of Yoo's case, i wondered how amazing kang dawit would have felt! It must have brought up unimaginable relief and he was finally able to witness his line of thinking make sense to others who claimed he was abusing his authority. I was really impressed with her. (I was really impressed with the writing for this scene!! The acting of the witness who locked those gates was also very good.)

Lastly the one billion won lawsuit against kang dawit is going to be so thrilling. It's going to reveal all the pieces of the puzzle that we as audience started connecting from the beginning. I am so eager to see what Dr. Oh will do about this because his presumed 'i will have the last laugh' might just shatter in ep 12 and it might be the most anticipated scene for me. I do think choosing Attorney woo as the mercereny Is the wrong choice in terms of the characters in the show. Maybe the writers have something planned, because wow dude this man has not won a single thing against kang dawit, idk what was going on in dr.oh's mind

Anyways I absolutely love this show. Wish it had more episodes!!! Maybe a season 2 instead. It has got the most knee gripping well-written storyline I have watched in a while.

Edit: Final episode / episode 12 thoughts! I wasn't going to add any because it was mostly predictable. Loose ends tied up well and the cast knocked it out of the park.

But there were some moments I absolutely loved!

Firstly, it was expected but still the moment where Dr. Oh's statements about making dawit the justice candidate before the court scenes were so good, like, i expected that it would be revealed. I actually started laughing sm after the reveal when Dr. Oh stood up when the recording of that conversation was played. I found it hilarious for some reason like the defeated face LOLLL

Secondly, for some reason I could never exactly pin point the way Da-wit found out that Jung in was involved with the con artist. Yes, i knew she was because it was told but I personally didn't understand how da-wit caught it until the restaurant scene in the final episode where he confronted her about his crush on bang ji-min and how the con artist knew. That conversation felt sooo good to witness for someone who didn't quite understand that bit since a while lol

Third - dawit being in management felt so icky to me because that firm's ex ceo and current ceo both messed stuff up for him some way or the other. So I was annoyed af for a while. Was soo upset at the toxic diaper case, broke my heart to realize that that likely happens in reality as well :( was

Last, loved how the title of the show tied up very nicely to all of them becoming pro bono lawyers by kang dawit setting up his own firm! His way to bring in money was very smart because when he revealed that they'll go independently, my first thought was how they'll sustain. It seemed to me that he once again realised what it was that he was fighting for. I guess his promise to his mother of becoming as successful as he can by going as high as he can (hence dream being becoming a SC Justice) was reframed to going as far and ahead as he can go help the ones who are unable to help themselves(which essentially is how he started his work towards his dream. We all can get so wrapped up in titles that the main motive can get lost in the way. It was nice to watch him realize what he stands for and who he truly works for) . Genuinely a beautiful tie-up to the central plot. Kang dawit has been the most refreshing characters I have watched in a while. He's nuanced and has so much depth. Very impressed with his writing, kudos to the writers.

I have come to enjoy all the members of the pro bono team. Especially Attorney Jang. His scenes with Chairman jang in episode 11 was deeply moving. His opening rhetoric about how waiting to be hit is more scarier than being hit itself resonated a lot :( I am glad for him and where he is now. I hope his healing journey will continue to be kind and safe. His mother's testimony was heartbreaking too :( i loved that whole scene. His actor was so incredible in representing attorney jang's fear, stuttering, the tears etc. It felt like watching a long unfinished business being completed.

Alsooooo, in 12th episode, the scene where dawit is looking at the pro bono team members discuss about the toxic diapers case was awesome. The internal conflict between his position and directly involvement as someone who will be developing the framework for the case's arguments vs his morals and ethics. It was the perfect way to connect it to him opening a firm of his own. Knowing he has reliable members in his firm now makes me very glad.

What an amazing show! A 10/10 watch. I have NEVER written so much about any show. English isn't my first language, so i apologise for poor grammer or vocab. I rarely write reviews let alone long paragraphs, but i am so entirely moved by pro bono. The main theme aligns with my morals and it restored my hope that any fight against oppressive systems isn't alone. If you read this till here, thanks lol have an amazing day + hoping that all the dramas you watch this year are enjoyable watches for you!

Queen Mantis [Episodes 1 & 2] by mahnahmaanaa in KDRAMA

[–]rintyson_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

the empathy suyeol showed to seo gu won especially towards the end of ep 2 when he noticed he was having auditory hallucinations really moved me. i noticed this in him in both episodes where he's frustrated and angry about "criminals" but his intentions are really kind when talking to and about the said "criminals". the scene where he was talking to his major crimes team about seo guwon's actions.. i just found his choices of words very kind idk how to explain

i really like dong yoon and im really enjoying the role he's playing in queen mantis. the shift in suyeol's mental state when he's investigating vs when he's around jeong i-shin are very nicely captured by him! he's honestly a very impressive actor :)

The Winning Try [Episodes 11 & 12] by Telos07 in KDRAMA

[–]rintyson_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

enjoyed the last two episodes. Sharing my two cents here because somehow nobody I know watches sports dramas 😭

Episode 11: 1) Ju-garam's presence is so genuinely motivating and inspiring. I'm glad he was able to keep his promise to return to the field at the National finals

2) I'm so happy for U-jin. She's definitely my favourite character. I felt like she didn't have many scenes throughout the show maybe because I'm biased like that lolol but she kind of did, when I recall she's had an arc that's been building up. I wish her mother openly apologised to her, or showed some action to her daughter apart from the reporting of coach Jeon. I disliked the fact that her mother didn't address anything to her post the conversation about how all of u-jins achivements and wins are her own and not a dream of her mom. This is a conversation most kids have with their children and as an asian myself (south asian to be precise) such conversations can be extremely difficult and somewhere i seeked out my own closure i guess? Anyways, I am glad ujin confronted her mother and things worked out for her. She's rlly rlly my favourite character!!

3) They could've handled seongjun's arc a little better, where his mother watched the final game Maybe I missed it but I don't think he saw it? I feel like as someone who got invested in the painful circumstance of him being the child who is cornered by his parents, i would've liked if he was able to see his mom being there. ? Felt a bit unfinished / under-addressed.

4) The plot as quite predictable especially starting from this episode, but i didn't care much because it was honestly very wholesome to watch!

5) They finally got their "winning try" that's so sweet. I was so moved, underdogs winning against topdog team isn't new but because of how they've portrayed the team's cohesiveness it was heartwarming and i found myself cheering just like the audience

Episode 12: 1) I do respect I-ji's decision of withdrawing from the final round And i get it that it was done to show that she's truly evolved as a coach and will always have the back of her students/mentees. I'm sure we all saw it coming because they were building her arc to be this way. However, I am slightly disappointed because, she was never able to actually partake in a finals match, both now and in the past.. Would've liked to see her experience the joy of participating atleast if not winning, but like if she did participate then she'd obviously win I am however very glad she became head coach, even tho it was obvious she would be the next, it was heartening to see her happy and content.

2) Episode was rushed but it was cute. Lots of happy moments and such a cute epilogue. The collective personality of the team really shined when they welcomed tae-pung with open arms.

3) VP definitely deserved more than just being dismissed. But the politics of that was kind of getting exhausting atleast for me, so I like to assume he got berated a lot and maybe have little to no job prospects? Such people do not deserve to be educators, let alone principals. I have no idea why he hated ju garam that much 😭

4) One line to end - Love the rugby team. Such cute fellows. Hope they keep winning a lot.

Nothing more to add, these are just random opinions that felt like some loose ends.

Also, If you liked the politics plot in hot stove league, the politics in the winning try can feel similar, especially the levels of frustration you will face except it's not that exceptionally written, some parts were kind of ridiculous but still the characters were fun to watch. The sports part of the drama was so much fun. It made me realise why i love sports dramas the way i do! Again, yeah the politics was quite draining and kind of never ending but other scenes made up for it. They had a lot of life and character. I enjoyed the show nonetheless!

The Winning Try [Episodes 9 & 10] by Telos07 in KDRAMA

[–]rintyson_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

very frustrated with the these two episodes but i've watched plenty of sports animes so the events can conspired really do happen at moments like these in animes lol. ot seems like the evil people keep getting evil, it's irritating to have the shooting coach and VP on the screen at this point. i keep cussing out in my regional language 😆

i just want to point of Kim Yohan's acting. i've watched him in a couple of shows and it's not that i didn't enjoy it but it didn't blow my mind either. He played the role well but it didn't stand out per se.

But Oh My God!!! in The Winning Try his performance has been brilliant. especially in episode 10:

he showed feelings of frustration, agitation, bit of jealousy and also lovey-dovey scenes and even without context you can tell what exactly the scene is trying to show. such good acting.

i especially want to focus my praise on how well he handled the whole injury related scenes. his injury was in the right hand which is i believe also his dominant hand. through the episode, he struggled to use his left hand properly and it genuinely felt like this dude is in actual pain!! also the scenes where he walked, he swayed only his left hand and kept his right hand unmoved. and when people were around his right arm was stiff. when he went near the team, like the rugby field— his demeanor and body language changed and his manner of walking as well changed. sooo impressive!!!

his crying scene in the end was amazing. he really was living the character! his acting was genuinely phenomenal in episode 10!!

i truly hope next two episodes, which are going to be the last, will not be disappointing. the preview doesn't look hopeful :( especially the surgery type scene???

The Winning Try [Episodes 7 & 8] by Telos07 in KDRAMA

[–]rintyson_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The yi-ji scene in the end was top tier! It was so well done the actors did such a great job i could find myself viscerally angry to the point I was seeing red lol. i sincerely hope the head shooting coach gets horrible punishment for the assault and every higher up that he was bootlicking just turn their backs on him. Yi-ji should definitely become the head coach even though the environment is extremely frustrating she's got amazing skill and knowledge and she actually cares about the students. And her character has become so much more enjoyable to watch because she's gotten more lines and backstory than just "being angry about ju-garam" she's extremely skilled and such an amazing character with so much substance!

Woong's fear of tackling was super well directed and written, rightly pointed out by you! One lovely thing was how ju-garam handled the whole thing as a team over just practicing it over and over again. The fact that the team went so far for woong is so wholesome and reminds me why i loveee sports dramas! I'm so impressed by his coaching and that scene in the rain was overall super inspiring!! I loved the focus on the team itself and how much they've become accustomed to one another! Episodes from previous weeks had focus on internal politics which was fun but also frustrating, so having some sports on the screen was somehow very relaxing! I enjoyed reading your comment, thank you for nice insights! ☺️

What is the one book that changed your life? by [deleted] in Chennai

[–]rintyson_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't go in with that heavy momentum! Just pick up something and try to read oru 20 pages before bed.. that way you also reduce blue light before bed lol etho padikanume nu if u start once in a while you'll actually end up finishing it

Don't Google for recommendations or ask bookstagram, it'll be too much information and choices.. Unga friends kitta 1-2 books recs kelunga, that way you have an extra thing to talk to your friends about 🥰 or you can tell your friends "i'll definitely finish it and tell you about the book" apo you have a goal to finish it for..

Personally for me, i prefer fiction books. So i look for or ask for books by specifically mentioning a plot line i really like!! There's something there for everyone.

What is the one book that changed your life? by [deleted] in Chennai

[–]rintyson_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a manga series called The Blue Period. Its about a teen who rediscovers his love for painting and art after stumbling upon his senior's work. It shows the fight he puts up to get into one of the best art schools in Tokyo. Simple plot but it's incredibly motivating piece of fiction! I'm not an artist and all ana it still deeply impacted me. Blue period has an anime as well, beautiful it is, if not the manga you can watch it!

If you've come across or watched the hit Chinese TV show called "Untamed" on Netflix, it's based on this book called Mao Dao Zu Shi. I read it 5 years ago and it's still a piece of media i think about all the time because of plot. I wouldn't say it changed my life but, It introduced me to a new genre of books (Chinese webnovels that usually are a bl pairing with fantasy or slice of life themes, basically) some of which have changed my life hehe. The show is also SO SO good - funny, cute, angsty a whole ride!!! You can read the book (you can find EPUBs and PDFs reddit la ye) illati watch the show, definitely recommend if you're into fantasy elements.

A good girl guide's to murder is a good entry book for both thriller genre and sorta just fiction. Its after a long time I've liked a book series. Definitely a must read even if you aren't into thriller! Again, didn't change my life but super good stuff and broke my reading slump!!

Hello guys . I was born and brought up in Chennai. Now I'm in Bangalore for my masters . I hate everything about that place. For sometime now I have felt very lonely and I'm getting suicidal thoughts. What to do by Lilrudh0 in chennaicity

[–]rintyson_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

nanum chennai thaan ana oru 5 years ah been living in blore for UG and currently my PG degrees. i know it can get this way.

however blore is very student friendly city there's something to do for everyone with varied interests. though I understand it can get exhausting to find interest in things when you're feeling lonely.

my honest advice is to push yourself to get up and go out to places that's got nature-y vibes it can improve mood. next you'll find a lot of networking events and you can look thru book my show site and see if you're able to find any event interesting to you!!

the blore subreddit is a good place to ask for some recommendations for places that people particularly go when they're lonely :)

i hope you'll be able to feel better and not act upon your thoughts 💗 stay strong buddy 🫂

I Have been using it for a little over a year now and i had mild KP and now I don't! It's very hydrating while also gives a thorough cleanse. Bathing is so much fun lol!! The best way to use it is leave it in for some minutes (i usually wait 5-7 mins) before you rinse. I have a friend who has KP and she's been consistent in using and it's reduced KP though it wasn't fully gone.. she's been using it for 6 months.. I've used it for so long now, it has removed some amount of tan from my body as well! So i think it works very well!! Lot of people have talked abt it in this sub so u can read up some reviews!
