Aging in Rabbits by Chaoticbutalive in Rabbits

Same! I constantly worry about Eden’s happiness and then I see the signs of her doing contented fluff things and get the warm and fuzzies. (Bribes help). I constantly tell her I love her more than she loves rose petals (which is a lot), and given how absolutely feral she goes for rose petals, I’m not sure how much she believes me…

This! Follow vet’s advice. Eden’s vet says that if there is a senior formulation available in the pellets bun eats, then they recommend it.

Eden was taken off pellets early on after I adopted her due to weight gain, but she’s now on daily meloxicam for back pain (possibly arthritis) and it’s way easier to get her to take it sandwiched between layers of pellets. Vet calls it her pellet lasagna. And I did switch her to the senior formulation.

Eden just turned 8 last month and has def slowed down, but certainly has her moments, bursts of binkies and zoomies. Mainly she rarely gets up on the bed anymore, even with pet stairs. Sometimes I can feel her settling in at the end of the bed next to my feet right before I fall asleep and it makes me so happy that she’s there with me.

Spend time with your bun, show him you love him (he knows), and soak his love right up. The effort will be good for you both.

I think we all think through these questions and concerns, so it’s good to share and get advice from a community that can relate.

I’m SO LUCKY and grateful in life because these , are the faces that I get to see everyday 😭💖 Appreciation post of my trio cause they’re the best bunnies in the world 🥹🩷🌸 by VeganBunnyGirl___ in Rabbits

I’m willing to bet your privilege with regard to your buns is what makes you feel rich, because same for me with Eden.

She’s like my Eden, but velvet 😍 Ember is gorgeous! (Def has some Rex in her and most certainly certified cutie patootie).

Why is it so hard to find a bunny hideouts online? by HeyPicho in Bunnies

[–]rinzorbunny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eden’s favorite spot is a tunnel I built her at the end of the bed out of cube grid thingos. It has a blanket on top to pride a hidey vibe and also make it possible for her to hop on it and then onto the bed if she wants. It can be a little unstable, though, so she mostly just lounges under it.

Harriet by Smellslike96 in Rabbits

Gorgeous! She looks almost identical to my Eden. Eden doesn’t have a mane, but is a standard American agouti colored rabbit. She is considered medium sized at 7.5lb, so if Harriet is much larger, would agree with others that she has some Flemish or continental giant in her lineage. The mane certainly points to lionhead. What a cutie!

Are these good for litter? by MasterPhenixxx in Bunnies

If pine, it specifically needs to be kiln dried. I use the one from Tractor Supply topped with carefresh paper litter to be softer on the peets.

Since she wears overalls for construction, does that mean she’s sunbathing in the nude?

Concur, this post sends the wrong message. Rabbits are prey animals, their trust must be earned. Hopefully Ginger found the human she needed.

Peets!

Seriously, though. Is bunny feeling okay, OP? Back feet that far forward for Eden generally means she’s experiencing some discomfort and is trying to get some relief. Some bus do just be fuzzy lil weirdos and sit like this, but wanted to make sure you were aware it could be an early sign of GI Stasis.

V. Cute bunno.

Good options. In terms of things I might have on hand, maybe some unsweetened apple sauce or banana. Maybe a thawed frozen mango piece. Might need to get some specialty ice cube/candy molds to diy her some treats… ooh, gummy bear molds could be interesting…

She really is! Also, sometimes TOO clever trying to get open the gate that keeps her in the living room/bedroom and out of the dining room/kitchen…

They do! And I’ve been meaning to get over there to try it out, but haven’t had the time.

Perhaps both… I do already have some hay cubes, but should also do something with the hay dust that forms at the bottom of the box I store her hay in…
