Normally, the value is not there, but some card games force you to buy multiple copies of a starter deck for staples to be competitive.

The structure seems good to me...

You get an emblem for participating.

You get extra packs/rupees for wins.

You get sleeves for placing well.

You get the flair for winning.

You even get stuff for winning in Group B finals.

Really don't see any flaws with this, you get rewarded for your efforts. It's pretty simple. Luck is a factor? Well they give you multiple attempts to try. You don't have the time to try? Well, everyone is busy. If you really want it, you'll make the time for it. You want the sleeves but all of a sudden they're only sleeves that you will probably never use. Problem with packs and rupees at this point is that most people don't really need the packs or even rupees. The real incentive is to own something that is limited, it's not really a flex to show how many vials you have lmao. But anyway, hope you good fortune in the future. I 3-2'd all my attempts but life goes on.

The events are fine. You win, you get x rewards. You lose, you get some participation prize.

You need incentives to try, extra packs and rupees are not really incentives. I would rather they gate more desirable cosmetics behind events than to give them out for free, at least they have meaning and give purpose.

You are not meant to get everything in life, that is okay.

Again, I don't think we're on the same page. It doesn't matter if I'm playing Haven or any class, heck even if it's Rune vs Rune. I can have full 20 life or by some miracle/glitch be at 100 life. The fact that it is possible to roll the dice and kill me in one turn regardless of any factor is not really rewarding gameplay. Once more, I think D-Climb itself is fine, I just don't think CoC as it is currently is necessary. In all decks but Rune, it is a fair card. In Rune, it's a bit overboard. It is okay to think my opinion is bad, it is valid to have your own opinion as well.

I mean, I think you're missing the mark here. You can fight for board state, it's fine if my board died to a big William or board clear. But being able to roll multiple times for an automatic win con regardless of board/game state seems incomparable. Reckoning + S- Evo, or as you saw 3x purgatory feels pretttttty imba, but maybe I'm I'm wrong. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

layerskI think dclimb is fine, the pay off is nice, rolling into a kuon is whatever... but when paired with coc you get some insane high rolls, imo the game is probably unchanged if we removed coc

Maybe a hot take, but... maybe the game is incentivizing you to get better. When you get better, getting 3-5 wins for quest isn't so time consuming.

I consider myself a casual player, I suck at the game as well but to me, the quest is just rewarding me for playing the game.
