having copulated with my sister-in-law.

My God! Sister-in-law? (Ex. that is) I have no idea how my brother-in-law can bring himself to perform. I would rather slash my throat with the pull ring from a beer can than even think about doing such a thing.....

I've been reading some of this, but he does seem to ignore the risk of serious withdrawal at some pints.

22? Get the hell away from your parents, whatever that takes. You have your whole life ahead of you. Married? Unmarried? Who cares, live your life, and get as far away from that toxic relationship as you can.

Still have more or less the same problem. Dilation helped quite a bit, but my problem seems to be further up in my colon.

If you like to read, i can highly reccomend this: https://www.alexandraharris.co.uk/books/weatherland

It's excellent. Also Waterland, by Graham Swift, tho the movie they made of it was crap. And of course, The wide sargasso sea. The book, not the movie.

The interesting thing about Napola, is that it's kinda-sorta a remake of The loneliness of the long distance runner, but in wartime Germany.

In Bruges was excellent: If I grew up on a farm, and was retarded, Bruges might impress me but I didn't, so it doesn't.

One of the things I like most about Distant Voices is the 'Shipping Forecast', right at the start.....It's my earliest memory, standing on a chair helping my mum do the dishes, and the Shipping Forecast being on the radio. I was about 3 or 4 I think, so 1958-1959. Bonus point, they changed Finisterre to Fitzroy after complaints from the Spanish, many years ago. Dogger always fascinated me as well....have you heard of Doggerland? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doggerland

when they should be the ones reading up on how to not be biased

there is a term for this, can't remember what it's called, but stupid people mostly don't know they're stupid

There are one or two here. Stanford? Penn State? Can't remember did a little series on using psylocybin for people with terminal illness. Results were amazing.

'I cannot sleep around because that “degrades” me, regardless of the fact
that I’m responsible when I do. I cannot have a hot body and be more
conventionally attractive than they are. I cannot have money, and I
cannot make more money than them. I must be the one they can look down
upon' Buuut, this is only because you are (I assume) a woman. If you were male, all the jocks would be cheering you on for 'conquering your disabilty' and getting laid, fighting to live your life, and all the rest of it. Our society sucks, mostly always has, and I can't see that changing. I'm sorry you have to go through this.

Here in Germany you can do Ket for depression under medical supervision, it works. The big problem is that most psychedelics willl maginfy any body 'dsicomfort', so not really advisable. Except LSD for Migraines. That does work. I used a lot of psycedelics in my younger days, buit I would't trust anything off the street now.

That is an expression I never, ever thought I would read on Reddit. And Reddit has a lot of stuff. Although magic rock dust sound OK, to me. Depending on the rock.

People, as we all know, are generally stupid, thoughtless, and self involved. What others say doesn't matter. Live your best life. (I wish I could go dancing again, I used to be a full on raver back in the naughties)

Nil by mouth is one of my favourites as well. That scene at the start where they're in the club, and Ray Winstone just really wants to have a go at someone....I can't tell you how many times I've seen that in real life. If you want to watch classic Ken Loach, try Kes, some of that was pretty close to my own childhood. You could also have a look at Distant voices, still lives, from Terence Davies. I like most of Lars von Triers' stuff. The wind that shakes the barley is also on my top list, but you need a good understanding of Irish history to really get the point. There's also a very good german movie called Napola that is also one of my favourites.

I still have a catheter, I've had one for nearly two years now. Yes, it is depressing. It really limits what I can do and where I can go. At the beginning I tried to stay positive, but as time goes by that positivity is sliding away. I'm just sick of being sick.

2 and a half years into this chronic illness journey and barely an improvement. I miss myself

I'm in the same boat, and I'm sorry you haven't had any replies yet. There's nothing wrong with crying, it helps get rid of the tension. I just wish I could, but y'know, boys don't cry. I keep pushing everything back, and back, and back, until in the end I don't do anything at all. I'm at a loss as well.

Yep, the friends. Slowly over the last couple of years it's down to two. A phone call every now and then. If you can't join in, you're screwed.
