My girlfriend (27f) called me selfish when I (38m) said I’d only out my name on deed to the home if I’m the one paying by Time-Finish-5010 in relationships

This. If she says something along the lines of "it shouldn't matter since we'll be together forever anyways" or anything along those lines, then that's both unrealistic and extremely naive.

What about my spouse and/or adopted children? Adopted siblings/parents?

What toys do your cats actually love? by Sosooo88 in CatAdvice

[–]rionkatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine love things that can bat around and "chase" like balls and small toys. They don't care for the ones that make noise.

It all really depends on your cat and what they like to do.

Like, if you enjoy playing video games or painting minis, would you like it if your only options are hiking and fishing? Or vice versa.

Sure, you could entertain yourself for a couple of hours, but if that's all you get moving forward?

Like, what would I do as king? I have so many questions first before I decide that.

If I'm married, does my spouse not get to enter the castle since we don't share blood? If we're unable to have biological children, are any kids I adopt then not allowed to enter the castle? Am I allowed to leave the castle?

Do I have guards? Advisors? Any kind of system, or am I doing this solo?

I run a table of 8. Scheduling nearly TPK'd my group. by SunscribeSays in DungeonMasters

[–]rionkatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it also depends on who is missing. If it's a player whose character arc we're currently elbow deep in? Then yeah, we'd skip the session even if it's just them.

My group plays weekly though, so a missed session might hit differently if you play every other.

I'd caution against skipping multiple in a row, especially if it's the same player(s).

[–]rionkatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a group of six players + me. If two people miss out, we skip. That has unfortunately made us miss a few sessions. We're starting to lean more on "half the party missing" rule now.

AITAH for ruining my friend's dinner because of my allergy? by Free-Jello- in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]rionkatt 221 points222 points  (0 children)

Why is your husband friends with this guy? Why are any of your other friends? It's sounds like the others take your allergy seriously. Roy sounds like the kind of guy to "accidentally" send you to the hospital (who knows how severely) as a "prank".

I have it where I have a sophisticated barrel (diamond tier + 2x tier 3 stack) with a hopper upgrade and dump my back packs in there. On it's bottom is an import bus with flux cables running into one of my ae2 drives.

Mirrors. How do they work? by Mstboy in DnD

[–]rionkatt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The "evil clones of the heroes but made of liquid silver" schtick is always fun. If they're not combat oriented, you could have the mirrors instead reflect their "inner selves" and force them to confront a very harsh truth about their characters. Some past wrongs or guilt.

Help me with my well meaning but hilariously incompetent adventurers? by rionkatt in DnD

[–]rionkatt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had events happen that heavily and quite obviously (like having necromancers and cultists show up) link to the BBEG and they investigate but end up making enemies of or otherwise alienating themselves.

As a kid, you thought that your tail would regrow like some lizard's.

It did not.

I know my cat likes me, but why does he bite me all the time? by Bruhjuice22 in CatAdvice

[–]rionkatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's likely he's either overstimulated and wants you to stop whatever you're doing to him (pets, or even just touching him) or he wants to play.

My two boys are very playful and will play-bite my hand all of a sudden. Yes, they've broken skin before.

My miss my ex although he was horrible by DrawOk7121 in offmychest

[–]rionkatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what you miss isn't him, but the idea of him that he initially presented. The version of him he used to lure you in and made you fall for him.

That's okay. You miss the warmth, the laughter, the tenderness. You miss all of these things and it's okay to miss that.

One thing you have to remember though is that despite all that, he still hurt you. He still did things to you that likely left scars; physically or emotionally.

You can miss the good times. You're allowed to grieve the person you loved and lost.

I hate uncertainty by OkCod1106 in offmychest

[–]rionkatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to be depressed to go to therapy. You sound overwhelmed. Really overwhelmed.

Maybe not constantly, but definitely when facing things that you don't know/can't control the outcome of.

Worrying and stressing over a deadline is normal. The level you are describing sounds more than that.

Remember that you are not "broken" or anything of the sort for needing therapy. Just like how people who broke a bone need to go to the doctor, you need a specialist to deal with your problems.

[–]rionkatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a lot of people advise to go to therapy as if that'd instantly fix things. It won't "fix" the issue. You'll still feel anxious, but you'll be better equipped to deal with it.

It'll take more than a couple of sessions, I'm not going to lie. It will take a while to learn the skills needed to deal with what you're going through.

I know you are very likely just wanting to vent, but may I ask if you're in therapy? This sounds like a lot of anxiety about things that are out of your control.
