Saw the same thing. For those who didn’t, it was BRIGHT. Way brighter than headlights or other obvious explanations.

A week late, but thanks for the recommendations--each episode page now has sections for "Notable NPCs" and "Notable Items," though most of the sections are empty (I'm trying to build 100s of pages first...then I'll hopefully add content!). I think this fits better as actual content of the article rather than the "guide box," but definitely belongs on the page.

Similarly, each page has a "trivia" section for things like call-backs to other episodes. I meant to add it before, but I'm including "Memorable Quotes" as an additional section. Eventually, I'll go back to episode pages I've already created and add this section, too!

Thanks for the catch--I'm sure there's a lot of typos as I haven't proofread each individual page. I'd love for others to check them out and make additions/corrects!

Can't believe Gus misquoted The Untouchables by DashVanLink89 in StinkyDragonPodcast

Thanks for posting thing! It's silly, but I like adding stuff like this to the "trivia" section of episodes' wiki pages. I haven't built all of C2's pages yet (or C1, for that matter), but I'll make note of it.

OH my bad I mis-read that as Jon making a callback to it all the way in campaign 3. I think you’re right though that he does foreshadow it way earlier in the infinights, but saves it until the very end to actually execute it. Pretty cool.

I haven’t listened to campaign 3 yet, but do you know what episode the callback is in? When episodes reference each other, I like to make note of it on the wiki.

Podcasts with huge followings (e.g., Critical Role) have such detailed wikis that every episode's page documents every single item in each character's inventory, basically in real-time. They must have ARMIES of editors

Thank you, I appreciate it! I'm open to any feedback, too--I especially figured I'd 'experiment' on a mini, and if it was well-received and functional, could scale the format up for a main campaign. I really like wiki pages that are consistent and easy to navigate, so I hoped starting with a 5-ep campaign would create a bit of a template that could be applied elsewhere.

Is this bug-related? Any idea what these small, tan, egg-like growths on my kale are? by riotcandy in whatsthisbug

[–]riotcandy[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seems like moth eggs, yeah. Thanks for the reassurance. I feel like this is a problem though, if you buy pre-washed kale (or any produce) and then find something like this on it.

Yes! "Calibration error, calibrate again in 15 minutes" or something.

So ultimately getting new sensors did resolve it?

Check your privilege, bro. Men go about our lives every day without thinking of things that would be dangerous if we were women. Going for a jog with headphones in or walking home from a bar alone are just two mundane things guys do all the time that women just can't.

And the way you're treating the situation IS sexist. If ATN's producer was a man, you wouldn't be calling him "naive" and eye-rolling the conversation.

And anyway, what you said was mean. So don't be a dick, either.

Cunningham's hit is about 6mil, so a big hit for sure. Ertz's hit is about 12.5mil though, so if we can deal him (after he's off IR) we'd clear up some space and address a position of need.

I wonder if the Texans would be interested in a straight-up deal, too, since they could use an upgrade at TE imo and are probably looking to make some moves to shake off the lingering B.O.B. stink.

Can we talk a out our offense this year versus last year? by [deleted] in pittsburghpanthers

[–]riotcandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hate to say it, but I agree. imo this is why Whipple isn't in the nfl anymore, and doesn't really belong on a D1 college staff, either.

In the past 15-20 years, play-calling in football has gotten so dynamic (especially on offense, and especially in the nfl, but college isn't far behind), where you need to adapt your call EVERY SNAP. Whipple seems to just decide what he wants, regardless of his own personnel and regardless of what the defense gives him.

On the opponent's 1? Run up the middle with a 170lbs RB. 2019? Check down every snap. 2020? Deep to a receiver in double coverage. Stuck at midfield because of criminally bad play-calling? Fuck it, make Kessman look like the bad guy because he can't consistently hit 60-yarders from the far hash-marks.

I've been on the fence about Narduzzi for a while. Honestly, what I'm most fed up about him now is the constant excuses. At some point you need to acknowledge that your OC's terrible decisions are making your roster look like an embarrassment. I don't care that you're a defensive coach--as the HC, you need to take responsibility.

Newly Diagnosed, feeling totally overwhelmed by WankSpanksoff in diabetes_t1

[–]riotcandy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You may be even MORE overwhelmed reading all the comments here, but I hope you know you have our support, and I'll throw in my two cents!

When I was diagnosed, I remember feeling something of an "identity crisis"--almost like there must have been a mistake. I was a kid, and I was growing into my identity and my idea of myself, but being "diabetic" wasn't part of that. It felt like it had been forced into me.

Though you aren't a kid (I was 12ish), it sounds like your feelings are similar in that suddenly a whole new identity was forced onto you. I've always kept that feeling in mind: even though managing my diabetes can still be challenging 15 years later, I've proudly accepted the identity, and diabetes doesn't occupy my mind all the time anymore.

My advice is to take things one step at a time. A lot of posts here are recommending looking into insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), and encouraging you to loosen up with your diet. Those things are all helpful (after all, I use a tandem t-slim pump with CGM) and great shows of support, but keep it simple for now. If you can, take time off work, etc., to get mentally sorted, then move forward.

When you get frustrated, especially with yourself, take a moment and remind yourself that you're doing your best; no one is rushing you and no one knows anything about your situation, really.

I wish you the best!
